Hi, I recently "tuesday" bid on an item and won. The auction has a paypal logo on it that says I accept paypal. When I went through the automated check out of the auction site I couldn't find any info about paypal , so I e-mailed the seller and asked for his Paypal info since I wanted to pay that way....He very quckly responded that he doesn't accept PayPal! well anyway I e-mailed back that I specifically bid on his auction becuase of the paypal option.........still no response. Anyway my question to the forum is....Am I still obliged to pay for this auction? This is really frustrating since the only other means I have to pay are money order whicj will take several days to get there...the reason I wanted to pay by Paypal is to get it fast and now even if I send the money order I may not get the item in time to give it as a gift on the 30th. Also I am concerned that the guy reponded right away to my 1st e-mail but still hasn't to my second....what to do what to do.....
I don't want to"stiff" anyone but I really think this is a little deceptive.

If I were the seller, I'd say that since it's MY error that you bid on my item, I'll have to eat the deal, and would (with apologies) let you off the hook.

I would certainly ask the seller why they had the PayPal logo in their auction if they don't accept that form of payment.

Perhaps they decided to stop taking PayPal but never revised their preferences so PayPal automatically inserts its logo into their auctions on a daily basis.

In any case, I'm with HCQ. The seller should definitely let you off the hook.

Not Kerryann on eBay
