Any other info you may have on this book is appreciated...it's dated 1970 and from the U.S.S.R.

Hi,
I think I might help you.
The title of the book is "Follow your star" by Boris Guzev.
I don't know if this book has ever been translated into English but that's the literal translation.
Hope that helps....

Grr. I knew I should've kept up with my high school Russian.

Left type reads "Ludi Sovietskoe Russkie" (....Russian Soviet)

Author is "Boris Gusyev"

Damned if I can get anything else to work on any Russian/English dictionary that's actually online this AM.

Thanks everyone for your input. From what you've all said, I believe the book is a government publication that helps people deal with their career path in life. This is what I deduct from the little drawings inside.

The Russian type is beautiful, I wish I could read it!

"Go behind your own star" so it would be "follow your own star"

"Russian type" = "Cyrillic" if you want to put that into your listing

I agree with the translation of Lolka. The book is from the series "People of Soviet Russia" and is most likely one of those Soviet propaganda titles that were printed in such an abandance in former Soviet Union.
Not a very valuble tom by my anderstanding, but then I am not an expert on books from the Soviet era.

Haaa haa! dman3 and honaker5!

Ah, cyrillic. So that's what it is. Just the sound of that word makes my head spin. Thanks, I will use that in the description.

Yes, the books look propaganda-ish. I'm also stunned at the super cheap method of printing and binding. The paper is so bad it's like newsprint.
