OK, I list in all my auctions my TOS. Which states 10-14 day holds on all checks.

So why would someone spend $3.20 to send me a check Priority Mail if they are still going to have to wait the 10-14 days for the check to clear ?

I am not complaining, as far as making payment goes, it is excellent.

It is just that I have had several checks sent to me lately via Priority Mail and I was wondering if perhaps there is a user here who does this who can enlighten me as to why.

And before you ask, "NO" there are not delivery confirmations on these payments so that rules out the "Sent payment Priority with Del. Confirmation to make sure you got it" theory.

Had a leftover Priority Mail stamp and no $.32 one? Can send it for free via work? Screwed around and didn't send it when they said they would, then sent it Priority to hurry and get it there for fear of a neg?

These are just a few things I can think of. I've done it for the last reason I mentioned. My MIL always sends everythign to us Fed Ex. Birthday cards, you name it. All FedEx. She owns a travel agency and it's just easier for her, I guess, but often seems like overkill!

Could it be that they wanted to get their hard earned money to you in a expediate fashion?

I received a check sent via EXPRESS mail this week. Crazy!! Lady spent $11 or whatever it was to ship a $6 payment. Her payment was not late nor had she mentioned needing her order soon. ::shaking head on this one::

My guess is that they send it free from work.

Acooze,

Out of all the input here, yours makes the most sense.

Well if I buy from you with a check and your saying you will hold on shipping 10 days to see the check clears your bank you cant know if it clears till you actually deposit my check cant do that till you have it and the sooner you get it the sooner you can make the deposit and the sooner my item will get shipped

Ten day hold to clear starting tommarow or 10 days to clear a week from now if you want the Item soon priority mail would be the way to get it to you faster.

its chistmas season people want many item they by now for chistmas decoration or gifts .

Maybe they don't trust the reliability of regular snail mail. At least with priority, you can track it, and it usually arrives in 2-3 days.......

Just a thought......

I have found that people who send payments via FedEx, etc., usually do so at their employers expense. I don't object either, because I like prompt payment, but the ethics bother me.
