You are not alone! It keeps giving me the refresh page...which sends me back to the beginning!

When I did get on I found out one of my customers paid twice.
Now what do I do. I notified the customer but I don't know if I am supposed to send this back or do they do it from thier end.

Problem here in AZ also....two people claimed they paid, but I've got no way to confirm. The last time I was able to check, nothing!

Can't open it here in No.Cal either.
Logos under auctions are red- X-ing too.
A newbie bidder bid on 2 of my auctions yesterday and e-mailed me to say she'd paid with Paypal , and hoped she'd done it correctly. No record of the payment by midnight , and I can't get in today to see what her /my status is. She wants her items ASAP too !
And I was going to Christmas-shop at auctions offering Paypal today as I'm not able to drive for another week due to surgery.
So much for covenience !

No luck in Maine. Have a customer who tells me she paid and I have no way to verify this. I get the impression that the customer is upset that I haven't shipped it yet!

I had a bit of a problem accessing PayPal this morning, but after about a 20 minute wait (coffee break!) I sailed in quite nicely. No problems accessing site since.

When/if it comes up- suggest you get whatever money you can out of your account, and keep your balance low.

I'm not an alarmist, but I was around when LegalCheckServices went under, and after that when WeCharge went under- both leaving folks holding the bag. Your money in these accounts isn't FDIC insured, and if PayPal's business model doesn't pan out, you'll end up at the end of a long line of creditors during bankruptcy.

I just contacted Paypal customer service at 5:17 PM ET and they informed me they have been upgrading the site today. Some of the upgrades caused the slowness and they expect it all to be taken care of within an hour (so uh...that would be 6:17 PM ET?). Hope that sorta sets some minds at ease. I just wish they would have taken the time to tell us about this before it happened.

I got in really early and then couldn't access it all day and then got in late this afternoon.

Face it, it's been a 4 day weekend for many and everybody is trying to pay their bills and/or check their accounts. Sorta like trying to search at ebay on a Sunday night!

Got in about 1pm PST but only after refreshing twice , and then only could see my balance , no details of my transactions or if anything's completed or processing.

I hear you casiebear , I've got one of those too , fb of 2 !

I heard a rumor that PayPal was shutdown by the banking authorities - any truth in that? Or a viscious lie? I can't seem to get to their site and it has been like that all day so now I am getting worried!

thanks in advance,

simon

I was able to get into my account page today, but couldn't transact anything.

I hope it is just a traffic problem.

Hi,

Engineering is working on the issue as we speak. There have been access issues today and they are working hard to resolve the issue.

Many thanks for your patience and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Imagine showing up at your "brick and mortar" bank on a business day to find the doors locked and a note saying "sorry, we're doing maintenance today. If you want access to your account come back tomorrow and maybe we'll let you in..."

I guess a lot of people would not have a problem with that, but personally, it just underscores what I already knew.

I searched all over the news sites, and this is the ONLY place that indicates that there are problems with PayPal. (Thanks guys/gals)

Does anyone have the 800# for customer support?

TIA,

I just off the phone with PayPal (1-888-221-1161). They are reporting very high traffic, and state there are no reported technical difficulties. (BS) She did not have a estimated time that service would resume back to normal.

However, the operator was very friendly, and answered the phone almost immediately.

I'm going to give it till tomorrow before I start to worry.

Okay, so I spoke too soon. It's 9:40 here in CT and I can't get into PayPal. While I'm not going to get petrified yet, I'm hoping the non-access issue is cleared up very shortly.

BSM

Edited to say...I just got into it at 9:43 PM...very quickly and easily...hopefully it's fixed!

Edited again to say...at 10 PM, I get Internal Server Errors. I'd say they're being forthright in their reasons for site inaccessibility. I just want it fixed! Drat!
