Buyer wins a used camera from me in early October. Receives it on Oct 16-Oct 19 he leaves feedback of "well pleased with transaction". On Nov. 17 he emails me and states there's something wrong with the camera. I reply the camera was ok as far as I knew and that 30 days is too late to make a claim in general and especially in light of his Oct 16 feedback posting. His feedback rating is +3 (one is from me), mine is 192-0-0 over 3+ years.
I could use some objective advice.

It seems to me that you don't have any obligation to him. It's very unfortunate for him, but the fact is that he was satisfied with the item when he received it. There are no warranties when we buy used camera equipment.

seyms: Did the buyer say what the problem was? Is it something you could 'talk him through'?

Could just be the nut behind the wheel and the guy was looking for help rather than a refund.

The typical used camera warranty is 30-90 days from a dealer. If you can tell me what the problem was and the camera involved I might be able to give you some help. Details are telling...the more you can spell out the better I or some other AW person can help.

The chances are that most problems are operator error. Camera ailments tend to creep up over time and most users do not test equipment out thoroughly. For example, they buy a camera that works great. Then they add an accessory and discover that some mating mechanism or circuit between them doesn't work. Is it the camera's problem or the accessory or a combination of both?

For the future, you might want to state your limit on the items that you sell.
