Sadly, us Canucks can't get in on it. I'd gladly change my province to a state for $50.00 Maybe the Alliance party will win tonight and we'll be that much closer to our moneyed southern brethren.....
I think our Federal government is going to have a "Super High Tax Rate Day with an Overcharge on Postage" to compensate us for this promotion though, lol.

Any chance that this is sponsored by the Japanese?

I don't think I am---Exchangepath has some problem with not recording the buyer's address--which allows for stolen credit cards. There is a AW member who has been keeping tabs on all the payment services and they have moved EXCHANGEPATH to the 'Not Recommended List'

Someone posted this announcement on Ebay DNF------to tell the truth,I'm up to "here" on all these "freeebies, promo deals, we're the best, yadayada" announcements. If our sales could match up to as many CC's bidders could use.....we'd all be rich! A pie only has so many pieces~

Right now, not even free listing on ebay sounds attractive since ebay will probably look at this like an assault on Billpoint and try to squish our listngs. Fer sure, this doesn't seem like an auction business anymore... it's a CREDIT CARD SERVICE Invasion

I just wish AuctionWatch would give us Free Listing---like AuctionRover aka GoTo does on a regular basis without having to use one payment service or another.

And I wish AuctionWatch would just send me a bag of money. I mean, I do come here and use all their free services. Don't I deserve to get paid for that?

AuctionRover (GoTo.com seems to be able to pull it off without encouraging us to use yet another dubious payment site)

Launch your auctions using Auction Manager Pro our free bulk listing tool.
All versions will work but we recommend using AM Pro 2.5 (Learn More About Auction Manager Pro) on December 7, 2000. Note: Auctions launched through Auction Manager (online) or Inventory Manager will not qualify for free listings>>

Well I use the auction manager and don't have time with the holidays to learn Auction manager pro so I guess that leaves me out. Didn't really want to sign up for another free service anyway. So far paydirect has being going real well.

Nothing like giving a cookie and taking it back. Oh well my hips are starting to look 30 something anyway.

I would like to know more about the stolen Credit cards just in case I would even decide to use exchange path in the future or the people I help to set up auctions every ask me. So is it easy to steal your number from Exchange path or are you saying it is easy to use stolen cards on exchange path?

Thanks for answering ahead of time
Tracey

It's a sad day when you can't give something away free without people whining that it isn't free enough...LOL

I just recently signed up with exchangepath and would LOVE to hear more about this fraud thing. Got any links to the place that gives more info on it as to "not recommended"?

Don't suppose you would consider postponing this for a couple of weeks, huh?

You can schedule your auctions to start on the 7th and, according to their FAQ, would still qualify for the listing fee credit.

bunnicula Fiji - I"m so jealous!

How long are you going for? Would running 10 day auctions work (launching on Dec7 as Bluee suggests)?

I do appreciate the gesture on the part of AW but I'll have to pass on the free listing day as well. Like Tracey, I don't have time to learn another system. And I don't want to use exchangepath either. I signed up for them but had some (minor but time wasting) problems before I even completed my first transaction through them. Thanks but no thanks.

Thanks, folks! After all the complaints, warnings and lamentations about Paypal,I finally listened to all the promo for ExchangePath and signed up with them too. Nobody has ever used it, so I can't say personally anything good or bad. Just the idea that now they're getting dissed too?

I signed up for EP and it's worked just fine, though granted, only a few people have used it [so far, I hope].

As for learning a new program, I found out about the goto promotion with something like 24 hours notice, so I had to learn that one instantly. Normally I don't want to be bothered, but it seemed worth it. I increased my sales a great deal in that promotion.

However, I haven't seen the payment from goto into my PayPal account yet. I guess they did say it would be something like 6 weeks.

I'd love to participate BUT I have never been able to use AW Auction Manager without endless glitches in it. I love FREE, but the endless problems I encounter trying to use the AW system makes it a waste of my time. I do wonderfully with Go-To. AND I have no intention of using Exchange Path - as noted above, most who are signed up haven't had hardly any customers to use it. My customers use PayPal and PayDirect, and about 4 in 8 months have used BillPoint, I don't need another service to keep up with.

Thanks, but No Thanks! If the AW Auction Manager didn't have so many problems I'd consider using it, but for us it does.

I thought Exchangepath would be good until I spoke to them and my hair stood on end. They admitted to me both on the phone and via email that they do not even record the cardholder's address, much less validate it. This is stupidity beyond belief. It's like begging to be defrauded.

The good news is that a little used service is not only free, they seem to do a great job of fraud prevention. Western Union's Moneyzap not only answered my email questions within a few minutes, they asked me to call their 800 number where a rep gave me the details. They claim to have had no charge backs at all and claim that their process doesnt even allow it. They probably wont be free for very much longer. But they probably wont shut down or screw their customers either.

Read the details here:

Re: Learning curve for AuctionManager Pro.

Sorry, this is a no-brainer. I downloaded it about 5 weeks ago, and managed to have about 50 auctions online within a weeks time. I'd never done bulk auctions before, and this program allowed me to do without any trauma. There were no hitches in downloading and installing the program.

My first 5 auctions were uploaded within 40 minutes. This included uploading the pics, writing the decriptions in HTML, etc. Since then, the time per listing has gone down to about 5 minutes per item. Too, I've had ZERO problems with the program. It's about as hard to learn as operating a toaster.

The only problems I've had using it involved the eBay server being too busy, and AW can't control that.

AW, thanks for a good product.

i would not list that I accept exchangepath....there is a ring of credit card fraud originating with EP, and they look specifically for sellers who take EP.

I personally am very surprised at AW doing this partnership with EXCHANGEPATH......yes they are free right now----but information coming out about them is that they are not secure---as stated above.

So my question is---- Is Exchangepath paying AW to do this free listing partnership?? I would assume so.....but I thought I would ask anyways

Does AW believe that EXCHANGEPATH is set up in a way that lowers fraud as much as possible and protects both buyer ans seller???

If sellers are defrauded by buyers as a result of using Exchangepath because of this promotion---will AW stand behind the seller or Exchangepath???

RUN Exchangepath >>

I don't think AW is the jinx. AW has proved they can run a pretty stable business. X.Com/paypal jinxed themselves through BAD management, fiscal shortsitedness and just plan greed. Paypal was a shooting star I myself prefer to go with the cash cows like Paydirect. Only time will tell what exchangepath is but I sure would like to see some documented proof on the Credit card thing and not just hear say.

If I didn't have to use Auction Manager Pro (I have NO room for anymore software or any time to learn to use it right now. and if I had the time to reasearch Exchangepath I might have given it a try. I am not sure I really care to have a big list of pay services though. Paydirect has been working great for me both on Yahoo and Ebay and I Like knowing I am dealing with a company that has some stabilty history and staying power. That says a lot on the net.

Yes that is about right for paypal 6-8 weeks for checks. They say 4-6 I think but 8 is more like it. I have done it with them before they are usually slow but they are sure. I figure I will get mine around Christmas and I am getting a New VCR : ) with it and pay off a few bills : (

>>I sure would like to see some documented proof on the Credit card thing and not just hear say. <<

No one has to take my word for it. Just take a few seconds out of your busy day and email Exchangepath and you will get the same answer I did. I couldnt believe I understood it correctly, so I emailed a second time and they confirmed it.

And if you email Paydirect, you will learn that they make no attempt to defend charge backs. They just take it away from the seller, no questions asked. So far there have been very few reported but I think it's only a matter of time before the scammers discover how easy it is to get things for free at your expense.

I still dont understand why folks seem to have plenty of time to post things here about services they know nothing about but dont have a few seconds to email these services and ask pertinent questions before trusting them with their money. Remember what you're playing with.
