Ok, I know the USPS isn't perfect. I mean everytime I get a substitute carrier they never take my packages, grrr! But, I must say they have never lost any of my customers or my own packages.
Last Wednesday, you know the day before Thanksgiving, I rushed off to the post office to mail some before the holiday. I got there about 3 minutes before they closed, whew! Great, right? It was until I got up to the window and realized I didn't have my checkbook, which also has my debit card in it! Oh crud!! And it figures, the one I think is the grouchiest is the one waiting on me, you know the one I cringe when he calls my number...
Imagine my surprise when he says he'd cover me, that he knows me now. I was so shocked, I started sputtering and gushing "thank you!" Needless to say I showed up promptly on Friday with cash for my wonderful postal clerk. (And I think I know a post office that needs some baked goodies this season...)

I know that made you feel great. There's some pretty decent people working for the post office.
(My sisters one of them )
Today at our post office when I got to the front of the line the whole row of clerks put out their "Next Window" signs. Of course they were just kidding me. ( I think )
I'm making an effort to be extra nice to them with the coming holidays. If you think our holidays are stressful with ebay you ought to try out a shift at the post office.

Yeah, post office is pretty cool. Of the hundreds of packages I have sent, only one or two have gone missing. But postal workers are also human and make mistakes.
I hear they will have extended hours on Saturday, and will be open the TWO Sundays previous to Christmas.

When I was a window clerk, I had lots of "regular" customers who I certainly didn't mind helping out when they came up short.
One time a customer who wasn't one of my regulars was a dime short. I said don't worry about it. Later that afternoon he came back with the dime and a dozen chocolate chip cookies from a nearby bakery!
Turned out he had just moved to our area from Chicago and couldn't believe we would extend credit to a total stranger, even for a dime!
