Reading another thread made me think about some things that have happened to me in the recent past and I'd like your input.
1)I've had international buyers ask me to check the "gift" box verses the "merchandise" box on the customs form. As a rule, I do not check the gift thing because, well, it seems wrong. Am I being goofy?
2) A fellow once asked for my bank account number so he could make a wire transfer directly into my account from overseas. Never in any of my shipping decriptions did I ever say I would accept that form of payment. I told him no. Was I being too paranoid?
3) On bigger packages I was told to never check the "abandon" check box because sometimes postal workers from other countries will see that and nab the package for themselves.
Thoughts? Similar experiences?
Have a great day!

I haven't had a lot of "I" sales, mostly to Canada. I chose only Canada, Europe and Australia as destinations.
No one has asked me to fudge the paperwork.
Everyone pays by "I" money order or cash (I never suggest cash, sometimes it just shows up). No one has asked for something different. Just US bidders wanting PayPal, despite the fact my auctions all state I don't accept it. Being paranoid myself, I'd never give out my bank account number.
The only shock to "I" bidders is when I have to give the bad news that a heavy book will cost near to $15.00 to ship the cheapest way.
My only problem is I don't have scales yet, so for every "I" bidder, I have to take the box to the PO and get it weighed so I can give exact cost. Santa is supposed to bring me scales this year. I could sure use one.

I almost never do international sales (and in fact say I don't in my TOS), but I had a winning bidder from Denmark last night. I found out what it will cost to ship the item to him, but don't know what form of payment to ask for. I've only ever used international money orders from Canada. Are these available in Europe, too? Do I need to specify U.S. dollars? Thanks.
