Hey! I am retiring in exactly 14 days!
My August sales were better than my Oct and Nov sales! Depression glass and pottery!
No negs and better than 270 positive feedbacks! What more can I do? Prices are lower than I can afford to go! So much for price Guides! We need a UNION! Well, at least, we need something! HOw about we all stick together and not lower our prices? A consortium? Um...maybe I better go to bed.

I have a number of auctions in the twilight zone right now - no longer new, but not about to end either. It always seems very dead, but I know better. The best is yet to come.
Fortifying my anxiety with another Dr. Pepper....

I agree with you, glassperson. Glass and Pottery prices are way way down, lower even then last summer. I've been running auctions for the last 3 weeks in those categories, and some vintage clothing, cast iron. Everything seems to be depressed. After this week, I'm giving up until after the 1st of the year, I think. It's just not worth it.

I agree sales are off but I hate to say this I expected it to be.I do not think the holiday rush everyone wants will turn up.
It did not last year and its worse this year
Here are some real numbers for sale deposited by this date in each November for the past 3 years.

I truely am sorry for anyone who's sales are down and I can understand your feeling ebay is dead..but
I just had 16 figurines/paperweights close tonight for a total of a little over $2200 (my investment..$528)...so if this is a dead ebay, please don't tell my bidders.

Well, consider that there are very nearly twice as many listings on ebay right now as there were a year ago.

A quick look at the graphs shows that in Nov 1999 there were about 3 1/4 million listings. This week eBay has flirted with 6 million listings.
I do not believe that the number of buyers has kept pace. IMHO, the main action item for ebay going into 2001 is to attract more buyers.

also note that listings drop off dramatically as you approach christmas. That is actually a good time to be listing, as there is much less competition.

What hasn't helped is that both eBay was having some problems earlier today and our @Home web service wasn't letting anyone see our photos. Today was a real >>bust!<<
