I had trouble last night on a Tuesday no less with paypal not letting me on due to heavy traffic. When I finally logged on my inbox was unavailable. Now when I try to get to the site there is an empty page like when the site doesn't even exist. No heavy traffic error message or anything. Also I sent out a payment last night and not even sure if that went through or not. Could someone else try and see if it's my computer or something and get back to me??? Please

Blank page for me, too -- and I've got absolutely the nicest seller waiting for me to send funds for a time-sensitive item!
I'm betting that there are either a lot of people trying to close their accounts due to fees being charged come Friday, or else paypal is revamping the system to reflect the new procedures.
Either way, it's creating tension.
If it were my site, I'd have had a redirect along the lines of "we're experiencing change but are still in business for you; sorry for the inconvenience this is causing."
... but that's just me.

I have been trying all morning to log on to PayPal. Is the site down? Or when you say "Shes dead" does that mean that the site is no longer there?
I am really worried as I have several customers who have paid me via PayPal this morning and I can't get in to verify or withdrawl. I will not ship these items unless I can do that.
I have a feeling that I need to look for another company that can either handle the traffic or at least be more reliable.
Anyone know of others besides ebay's billpay?

I just logged in and was able to check my inbox and history. The site was loading extremely slowly, however.

not SilkMoth anywhere but here

Here's the message I got when I tried to log on
"Sorry. That Web site is not accepting requests.
You can try again by clicking on the Reload icon.
If you still get this message, that Web site is probably too busy to answer right now.
You might want to try again later."

I sent a payment early this morning with no problems.

Then you are one of the lucky ones! I want to know if there is another way to log on to that site?
Also I need to know if there are other kinds of services out there like PayPal - but more reliable.

I too, have had problems accessing PayPal.
If you persist you will probably get in, and here is a suggestion once you do:
Open new window and leave Paypal page OPEN. I find that if I do this I can access the account over and over without problems. If I close the window I cannot get back.
It's very frustrating when you just know there are payments there and you need the information - hope this "upgrade" deal is done soon.

Personally, I think the handwritting is on the wall. You all should get out while you can.

Just logged in, and the "Inbox Unavailable Now" message came up. So I clicked on the Transaction History link and everything came up for me. Now, that's assuming you can log into it in the first place....

I'm in Michigan and have tried to log into Paypal for the last 24 hours. Rarely can I into the site. When I do, my inbox is not available so I really can't verify payments. I hope they will make the needed repairs to thier site to make it funtional again.

OK! I got in! I took out all my money and I may close this sucker! I have never been so frustrated over a web site in all my life!
I could not get in via AOL, I had to load Internet Explorer to get in. Once I got in I did my business and now I will leave the window open to accept the last few payments that are due to come in today.
Thanks all!

Silly people, didn't you know?
Site stability is inversely proportional to fees charged.

I have been having trouble with AOL for 3 days now! I can't seem to get into half the sites and the others I get kicked off the web before I even get a chance to do anything!!! I was wondering if I was the only one with troubles with them, thought it was my computer.

Try this back door into PayPal:
http://elerts.egroups.com/partners/paypal/paypal.html
Clicking on the PayPal link will take you to a payments page after you log in. Just click on the account overview tab and you're in.

I GOT IN via AOL with that backdoor link! Thanks!
I to have been having problems with AOL and I was able to get into PayPal with IE! I am starting to wonder if this is an AOL glitch and not a PayPal one.
Anyone out there NOT on AOL and can't get in?

I have just been emailed by 2 of my auction winners and they are telling me that they want to pay via PayPal but cannot get in! This is so upsetting!
I sure hope that buyers are not totally turned off by this process. It would cause them to not want to bid or purchase items in time for the holidays. I know it would do that for me!
I just bid on something that I want for a little girl in my family and I would want to pay ASAP without having to run out for a money order or cashiers check.
I am going to call PayPal.

I talked with a "Bobby (extension 4091)" 12:48 pm (Central Standard Time) from PayPal and she said that AOL 5.0 and 6.0 and Web TV users are all having problems with accessing PayPal. She said that their tech people are working on it and it should be fixed in a couple of days.
Bobby also mentioned to me that PayPal was updating their system and that the system was down for that update. When the system came back up it was overloaded by the thousands of users who were waiting to get on. This has causet the "traffic jam" problem that is currently going on.
She said that AOL users could down grade to 4.0 and will be able to access PayPal ASAP.
Hmm... who wants to down grade? I know I don't! What a ton of work!
That backdoor link that was posted does work on my AOL 6.0. I plan to send that link to my two customers who are waiting to pay and I hope they both can get in. Then I can do same day shipping for them and be the HERO! LOL!
