I need help with an question, duh, well of course, why else post! Anyway, I used to always end my auctions on Sunday night, but that has become such a hassle, so I started ending them on week nights. Now I am wondering about Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Someone must have experience with weekend afternoon endings. Do they do well for you. Should I stay away from them? I sell new jewelry, at very close to wholesale, and do fairly well with it, but am trying to expand my horizons, so to speak.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

I just list whenever I feel like it, it never seems to matter. Sometimes Saturday is great, sometimes not. Sometimes Wednesday morning is great. Another post said it was like fishing, and I've found that is true.

Thanks, Mzalez
Nothing is worse then posting a question and having no one respond. I really appreciate you answering.
When you list in the morning, like Wednesday, as you said, are you looking for buyers who are surfing eBay from their work computers? I've just read some posts about these buyers, and seems like an untapped audience for me.
Thanks again.

My best time is Sunday night. I have gotten more early bids on auctions that I start in the afternoon. I try to have them end around 2:15 - 2:30 Pacific, I figure that's probably close to their afternoon break plus east and central will also get to view it on their breaks. I sell magazines and books, so I probably get a lot of impulse buyers. I am also getting more bids since I started ending them later in the evening instead of prime time. Usually between 10:00 - midnight. Never done really well on Saturday. I have tried days, afternoons & evenings so I don't list on that day any more.

I tend to have my auctions end on Sunday, but I've ended auctions Saturday afternoon, Friday morning, you name it, and I think that it truly depends on the interest in the item. If they want it, they will bid.
The advantage to ending at times other than Sunday night is less traffic and (this may strictly be wishful thinking) less of a chance of ebay being down.

I typically shoot for Sunday night, for my prime items...the rest fall out wherever during the weekday evenings (depending on listing time - depending on when I can get a free moment to list!)....BUT, I've been thinkin' of shootin' for weekday afternoons (around lunch time) of course with multiple time zones to deal with, that will have to move around a bit..The reason for this new thinkin' is that everyone is running around doin' holiday thingies (meetings, parties, and RL shopping) after work in the evenings and spending less time on the puter....Now, if they have "holiday-head" they just might be spending alittle more time at work "shoppin"....(shhhhh, just don't let the boss know!)...

I think I've had my best luck with auctions ending Sunday evening. This gives the buyer the whole weekend to surf. Plus it gives that "office surfer" time to get Friday's check in the bank.
If you suffer from insomnia, do not stay up late and post an auction. I managed to post two rather pricey auctions that ended at 2:00 AM PST. It was only after I'd posted them that I realized how hard that would be for last minute bidders. Suprisingly, both of my winning bidders were on the east coast. I have to wonder if I lost bids because of the bizarre hour.

Except for not listing on Saturday, I don't pay much attention to this. I have had them end very early morning, very late at night, mid PM anyday of the week. The one small and occasional problem is that there is a handful of users who only use computer at work. When week-end comes, they have no computer..., or so they have mentioned in Emails...Usually, those want to know my reserve, if any, so they can place their max bid before workplace closes. But very, very rarely so....

I post my auctions on Monday to Thursday nights at 6PM PST. Not only do all American timezones get a good "after school/work" view on the last day, not many people are doing things Monday to Thursday.
Everybody is out on Friday nights and the weekends are just as crazy. Just think of the snipers, and try to accomidate them.

I try to run all my auction so they encompass the weekend. Seems that's when most peaple have the time to browse. It has been working for me, allthough I have had trouble recently with selling Hummels
