Well today I got an email from ebay, stating I qualified to be a PowerSeller. I can't hardly beleive it. I just want all you posters to know, I could not have done it without you. I have learned so much through this board.I post accasionally, but I mostly lurk......GEE WHIZ that sounds bad...... Any way, THANKS TO EACH OF YOU.

But do you WANT to be?

I'm sure I've seen posters say that a high feedback and/or PowerSeller logo are guarantees of poor service, therefore, they don't bid.

While that may or may not be true in your case, anyone who feels it is will back out of your auctions without bidding. I want all the prospective customers I can get.

Ericka

I would have thought you'd be giddy with excitement over this, but you're so understated about it.

Just keep on doing the good work that got you there.

Congratulations!

Sorry, forgot the 'c' in your name.

Ericka:

Congratulations if being a power seller means that much to you!

I've been a "power seller" for close to 3 years now and I must admit - there are absolutely NO advantages to being one. None whatsoever. I don't even advertise it on my auctions or anywhere else.

Ericka: Really not trying to rain on your parade, but you must be relatively new. Frankly, the Power Sellers program is merely a self-congratulatory program that a lot of us sellers would simply rather not mess with. I was sent the same email to join the power sellers group about 1.5 years ago and my response was, "Big deal. What's in it for me?"

Aw, y'all! Going from (say) 499 feedback comments to 500 and getting a new star *technically* doesn't benefit you either, but it's still exciting to achieve it!

Whether it's a new star or becoming a power seller, either way, your new status represents a lot of hard work, and you deserve to be congratulated!

congradulations Ericka...meeting the qualifications for powerseller means you have worked hard to maintain a steady sales record of at least $2000 a month and you have given your customers good service as evidenced by your feedback (at least 98% good).

Even if the status of powerseller gives you absolutely no benefits from ebay...it IS an outside source verifying you have met the goals you set out to meet.

You worked hard and you deserve to be proud..without all the negative comments from those who don't agree with the program.

Kind of sad some people can't just share in your joy. Seems kind of low to diminish someones happiness.

Congratulations Ericka now you can display the logo which identify you as power seller, that's all you will get from being a power seller But I think Ericka it's too late, because they are thinking to introduce Ultra Power Seller.

Congratulations! It’s a lot of work to maintain that kind of sales level and good people skills.

This thread made think about my status. I’ve done everything required to be a power seller. Feed back no problem, sales level maintained for the last 5 months. Yet they tell me I’m not qualified, go figure!

Hi Erica,

Congratulations! I'm sure it must have been exciting to get that letter.

Actually I admire all good sellers whether they maintain a $2000 per month or just plain work at it steadily with consistant good service and goods and are a pleasure to buy from no matter what your total is.

Congratulations Ericka!!!

Let people say what they may about being a power seller. I'm proud for you. If nothing else it shows that you have worked long and hard to get where you are today.

It's not easy to maintain $2,000 a month in sales and to keep your positive feedback at 98% or better.

I have been a power seller for over a year and although most are saying there are no perks they are wrong. There is one that I have used many times. Instead of sending an email to [email protected] you can send it to [email protected] and get a very fast reply. The responses are not of the canned variety in most cases, but a live person on the other end that will do whatever they can to help you.

In fact I have sent them email and had them call me at home. I am proud to be a power seller and display my logo on all my auctions. As far as I can tell it has done nothing but help my sales.

Keep up the good work and again congratulations on a job well done!!!!

Congratulations Ericka!

I was so happy with my hundred star recently after 200 auctions. I can imagine how you feel after all your hard work.

Best wishes to you and your customers!

We got our email from ebay telling us we can join the "power seller" program last month. We didn't bother with it, but, yeah, it was nice of ebay to offer us a meaningless token for making them so much money in the last 2 years.
