I just received this email from a winning bidder of an auction that ended last night for a CD single:

"i am sorry, i meant to email you last night, but you listed the item in the
title improperly and i bid high on it thinking it was the actual soundtrack,
and not just a CD having three songs, i hope i can withdraw my bid and you
can contact the person who bid $7.50, once again sorry for the inconvenience,
it was partly my own fault, but it would not have been hard for you to put
the word "single" in the item description!"
The title said "XXXXXX Soundtrack/Artist CD",
"XXXXXX" being the movie title and "Artist" being the artist. I used all 45 allotted characters, so yeah, it would have been hard to put "single" in the description without leaving something out...
The description clearly stated that it was a CD single, and listed the 3 tracks on it. I always list the tracks, even if there is only one track to avoid confusion.
How much information are we obligated to put in the auction title? Silly me--I thought the title was the place to put keywords that helped bidders search & also to get people to look at your auction!
I guess I am just venting! I would not have minded if the bidder was confused and asked to back out, but to tell me that I listed the item in the title improperly steams me...
Am I wrong--or do I need to spoon-feed every potential bidder?
