I just logged into my Exchangepath account and get the message that my account has been suspended! No explaination. I have been happy with their service and recommending it to all my customers, although just a handful have used it, and none for over a week now. I checked my account yesterday and had $183 in it, thought I'd go transfer it out today and get this message. I have contacted Customer Support via email, but does anyone know a phone number? I had this happen with Paypal once but thought Exchangepath was so much better. I really thought I had found a reliable service, now this. UGH! As you may have guessed I am more than a little upset about this. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, I just got the account suspended message tonight myself. I sent a message to EP's customer service about it, but haven't heard anything more.

I wonder if it's just a software glitch...

I bet they are in Tijuana, drinking Rum, and chasing women with that money right now

eleanordew, I hoping it is just a glitch, if it is happening to others too, not that I'm glad your account got suspended. I guess I just got upset because I remember what a nightmare it was to get Paypal to unfreeze my account. Paypal froze it because they said my perfectly valid credit card was invalid.
Thanks for the phone numbers. I'll call them in the morning if it isn't straightened out by then. Of course they may be to drunk on that cheap rum to answer any questions.

I read this thread, and went to check my account. We have two accounts, the one with money in it was suspended, the one with zero balance was not. I hope it's a glitch, I've said goodbye to entirely too much money lately.

I just checked my account, well, tried to.. The service is down while they are updating. I guess they're buying a better brand of tequila now?

Exchangepath has worse fraud prevention and customer service than Paypal. If there is even the suspicion of a problem, they will freeze your account. They will do this even if you were the one who reported the problem. For more info, read http://www.ygoodman.com/payments.html

They are back online now, so I tried to access my account and got the suspended message also. This made no sense as I just recently opened the account and have had no transactions whatsoever.

Thanks, noshill, for posting the phone numbers. I called the 800# and was told that they have suspended all accounts that did not have a credit card registered, as a security measure. She reinstated my account right then, so I can get in to register a card.

Now we know why they were offline this morning--to purge accounts. Seems like a pretty whacky way to deal with the problem. I asked why they didn't just email me that I needed to register a card to keep my account current, and she didn't have an answer.

Now I'm undecided whether to trust them with a card number or dump the account.

Anyway, if you have money in there you need to get out, a phone call should get your access back.

***Edited to add this***
After I posted the above, I got this e-mail from their "Risk Management":

Dear Member:

As part of our normal account audit and review process, we have
reason to believe that your account has been associated with
enrollment or transaction activity that constitutes a violation
of our Member Agreement.

This activity could include:
- Missing enrollment information, such as credit card
information and billing address, that is now required in order
to maintain an ExchangePath account.
- Residency outside of the US or use of a non-US email service
provider or Internet Service Provider.

Therefore, for the protection of ExchangePath and our members,
we have suspended your account.

If you would like to maintain an account with ExchangePath,
please re-enroll with the appropriate information. Or, if you
feel your account has been suspended in error, please contact us
by "replying" to this email.

Thank you.

I was so furious to be insulted like this, I let them have it with both barrels. Any business this STUPID deserves to go down the drain.

I hope all of you who have money in there can get it out in time.

Sounds more like insecurity...

This one is definately up to Paypal standards.

What a joke.

Since Exchangepath has this big partnership going with AW, I would really like to see someone from Exchangepath come here and explain/defend this action.

OK, they allowed people to enroll without listing a credit card (I know. Shortly after signing up I asked why I hadn't received my bonus. I eventually found out it was because I hadn't listed a credit card. I didn't even realize this.)

But they allow you to create an account without a credit card, no question.

Then they send an accusatory email and suspend the account. Simply unbelievable.

Well, at least this happened before the free listing day. I know I certainly won't be taking part.

So what if someone does not have a credit card or will not give them a credit card number? Can you still get your money out of you account or do they think they get to keep it?

It gets worse. Their response to my request to close my account just arrived, and it is just a repeat of the same accusatory email!

They are on the verge of beating out Paypal in the stupidity department.

If you have any money in there, get it out quick before the situation gets any worse. Who knows what they will do next.

My opinion of this company is not printable here.

My account was suspended too... and I have a credit card registered. I know, because it's been billed by ExchangePath!
The money is still in my ExchangePath account.

I tried to call that 800 number and was told that "all the Customer Service staff are at a meeting. They should be back in 15 minutes...."

Uh-huh.

I finally got through to someone at ExchangePath and was referred to the head of risk management, Sean McGinn.
His telephone number is 914-390-9205.

Of course, all I got was his voice mail.

All I want is my $5.00 back. I guess I'll have to initiate a chargeback to my credit card.

Boy I am glad I stayed with PayPal where I have NEVER had one tiny problem, and have had nothing but good service, can always get someone on the phone 24 hours a day - I love it.

Sorry to hear about all the problems with Exchange....

I just got through also and actually spoke to a person. He wasn't very helpful though. Just told me to email them and they would get back to me. I am beginning to regret ever signing up with this service. Guess I will just wait and see. Luckily on the transaction I have through exchangepath, I am the seller and haven't shipped the item out yet. I think I would rather take a neg than lose this large an item.

I am glad that I am not the only one with this problem. I am so pissed..I have sent many emails with no reply. I have even called and was told that the customer service folks can't do anything..even tell me why my account was suspended. I would have to call back tomorrow and talk to someone..maybe..what a bunch of crap.

Oh..even though my account was suspended..they took money from one of my customers using my "suspended" account today. Is that a clue to what they are doing??

Why is AuctionWatch working with them. Seems kind of strange with just a few days left until free listing day.

It is time to list auctions and only accept uspsmo simple and easy, if bidders dont want it, that is their problem. the more sellers that go to only using post office money orders the better auctions will be. forget about all those wonderfull things with elec.payments, as they are swoooooshed out with account blockages. wisen up.
int'l. cash only at their risk. now all your problems will be solved. maybe

Has anyone actually managed to get a reply from exchangepath yet and solve the problem with their account? I am wondering how long they are going to string me along and keep me wondering what is going on with the auction that I received money for last week. Luckily I went against my usual policy and didn't mail the day after receiving payment. So I am not really out anything. I might end up receiving my second neg for this but really don't care at this point. I am glad I didn't have anythign else listed at this time so don't have toworry about any more money coming into my exchangepath account.
