I just logged onto exchangepath and got a message saying they are no longer taking discover and diners club. ( Not sure on second card, just remember discover since that is the reason I signed up for them). Now I am getting worried. Last week I called their customer service because the $10 deposit I had coming in wasn't showing up in my account. Was told they had a temporary glitch and the money would be available in another 3 - 5 business days which it was. I just had someone pay me for a playstation 2 for over $600 and requested the money be deposited into my account and them get this message.

I have tried calling their customer support and instead of being connected to a live person I got a message telling me to leave my name and phone number and they would call me back. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Exchangepath fraud control and customer service is even worse than Paypal. They have become the number one rated site by credit card thieves for the ease with which a crook can create fraudulent accounts. They charge no fees and they must be losing tons of money. You want to accept $600 payments through this service? Why dont you just buy $600 worth of lottery tickets? You stand a better chance of keeping some of your money that way. I wasn't aware until I had listed the auction adn it had bids about the problems with exchangepath and by then it was too late. Now I have to figure out what is going on. It may not make this buyer too happy but until I can get into exchangepath, his item is not getting shipped. I can't afford to lose $600.

Your post got me curious so I went and looked according to their web page they state they accept the following credit cards:

Credit Cards: Visa® card, MasterCard® card, JCB® card, Diners Club International® card.

I'm almost positive that they accepted American Express and DiscoverCard the last time I looked. There was no notice of a change and I received no email stating such either. Maybe someone can give more information.

Did ExchangePath accept American Express and DiscoverCard? Do they still accept them?

They used to accept them and no longer do. If you opened your account using one of these, you will get an email telling you that you have to change it. If you opened your account as a seller to receive money only and never gave them a card, your account will be restricted until you call them to unrestrict it and then put in a card. After all, by EP logic it must be easier to commit fraud without a credit card, just like the best way to prevent CC fraud is not to record the cardholder's address.
