After nearly a full 36 hours without one, I actually got a bid on my auctions!
Now if he doesn't retract it...

It HAS been crappy. I just had 38 auctions close and 12 items each had one bid. That really is not an auction - just a low-percentage-of-success retail sale. I currently have 60 auctions with 4 days to go and only 10 bids. I'm outta here until 2001.

My last auction of the year closed last night. After 7 days it had a whalloping 2 bids. Too slow for my blood, Maybe January will be better.

I have 5 auctions ending tonight...All were run for 7 days....Not ONE bid on any of them....In my 2.5 years of selling, I cannot remember EVER having a "set" of auctions close with NONE sold!....
On the other hand, BIN is workin' for me...Just alittle TOO well!....I've got a ton of shipping to do today!....

Don't give up yet. Keep listing. You've gotta move the stuff NOW! After the 1st of the year, postage is going up and then things REALLY won't sell.

heygrape....I'm thinkin' I'll just lay off & actually have some Christmas fun with my family...Get a "real job" in January (I'd make one heck of a shipping clerk!) and then first sign of spring have THE biggest, baddest yard sale ever seen in these parts!!!...

I, too am thinking about quitting til the end of the year.....I had 10 auctions close last night, 9 with bids, 4 with multiple bidders, but the final bids are half of what I was getting even over the summer. I did have one item do nicely ($60) but I was sweating it---it was a seasonal thing and if I didn't sell it now it would be hanging around until next year! It's partly that I want to give myself some well deserved time off, partly the lukewarm bidding, and partly the fact that I'm going on a trip to San Francisco next week and I don't want to be rushing around trying to ship as I'm trying to make a plane. Still, I just *hate* it when I have nothing listed...I feel so bored when I can't check my auctions! And the point about postage going up is a good one. I don't want to have excess inventory that will be harder than ever to sell in the spring......arrrggh. Decisions.

I had one item that didn't get the opening bid of $9.99 until the last day. By the time it closed it was over $30.00.

I'm constantly surprised by what I offer that sells and what doesn't. I have 14 of 35 items bid on. Some with bids when I was taking a chance, some without that I am no so sure about anymore. Some I know will at least get the opening bid by the last day.
It's a crap shoot. Glad this is just a supplement to my pension. I don't have what it takes to live on risky ventures.

My sales results have gone from 95% of my auctions sold last year to barely 25% this year. Then I have 7 auctions that I have to cancel for newbies. I am so frustrated. I waste so much time with newbies but that should be another thread.
I know that after the first of the year I am going to be making some changes.
