I have something interesting to share regarding the Half.com banners on the
book search page. I called customer
service yesterday to complain about this
practice and was told at that time that
a link from Ebay to Half.com didn't
exist that there was simply a banner
advertising Half.com at the foot of the search page and that any link present was not viable. Again, I called today to speak with a customer service person. She told me the same story. A banner exists but no
viable link to the Half.com page. She said that when she clicked on the banner with her computer, she got a message stating "Page could not be displayed". What gives? Is Ebay keeping their customer service people in the dark? The customer service people
seem completely incredulous when I mention the topic. What's going on?
I find that customer service reps for any large company that serves the public are generally clueless. What I often do when I get no results with a customer service rep is immediately ask for their name and request to speak to their supervisor. I find it more expedient than wasting time with the person who answers the phone.
