In a box lot at an auction, I got the cutest little chamber pot. It's about 2 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" tall. It appears to be yellow ware with 3 white stripes around the outside and a tiny surprise on the inside, if you get my drift! Also on the outside, printed in gold letters, is Souvenir May 22nd 1902. So does anyone know what happened that day and why a used chamber pot would be a souvenir?

1902 The teddy bear is created by a Russian immigrant to the USA, after seeing
a newspaper cartoon depicting President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt.

1902 Automatic vending machine invented.

1902 Willis Carrier invents the air conditioner.

For more bits and bobs of info about the year 1902 go to: http://looksmart.infoplease.com/year/1902.html

There's more here than you'll ever want to know!

Keep in mind that in 1902, May 22 was a Thursday. The moon was full. You will have to use your imagination to fill in the rest methinks!

Now, what makes you certain the chamber pot was used??? Just curious!

Edited because the typo grinch is on a rampage tonight!

Maybe it was the trophy for an outhouse race?

Maybe it was the trophy for an outhouse race on "Wagener Day" during "The Charleston Exposition" in South Carolina. ???

I don't know what the date might signify, maple, but you might want to research who made your little novelty. Ohr made a chamber pot like you describe (with the surprise inside). You may have found yourself a treasure!

Edited to get the name right

We have a mini one in our shop and it was made in Germany and has an eyeball inside. A dealer told me that they were once given out at Dr's. conventions but I don't know if that is true or not.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I don't want to sell it until I have a better idea exactly what it is.

Wow, possibly Ohr? Wouldn't that be great? With my luck though, probably not!

The only thing I can figure is that one of my relatives from wayy long back got run over by a Trolley and died a horrible death.

Cut in half. Undertaker had a time sewing him up whole again.

:\\\"Crystalline Sliver cannot be the target of spells or abilities.
