Hi Everyone,

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what else I can sell on eBay to make some money. Finding actual physical items to re-sell is getting harder and harder with the "eBayization" of the world. Yard sales, fleamarkets and other product sources are too competitive and profit margins are thin.

What I need is a reproduceable, non-physical "thing" that can be sold over and over again without having to go out and source it everytime!

Selling a service would be the ideal answer!

I would be curious to hear what other members of this group think about selling services on eBay, what types of services would sell and how successful it is?

-Bill

Hi Bill, I list auctions for a few of my RL customers for an hourly fee. One of them decidied to try listing authorized Rolex repair service. We list it and run it for 10 days consecutively, listing it of .01 bid price. In the description I start with "THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, PLEASE DO NOT BID....." It gets lots of hits, but I think he would get more response if he had an 800#.
Of course someone always bids on the non-auction and you have to write to explain then cancel the bid, if not you are setting yourself up for a neg.

Bill,
Since you said in an earlier post that you are British, perhaps some ethnic English service would be appropriate. While bodysnatching, and selling opium to the orient are passe'; perhaps you could flood this board with request for information on "How to Make Money". Then when enough people answer with good ideas, put them all on a CD and sell them on ebay. This sevice is called "info-pimping" and these message boards are rife with people looking for any easy way to make a million bucks (pounds) on someone elses ideas.
Thomas Edison, American, once said that success is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.
You'll just have to sweat it out ol' boy!

Feralboy Would that be the same Thomas Edison who stole half of the ideas that he became famous for? Surely not.

billmeyers If I ever have a spare, really intelligent idea for making a fortune, and I decide that I don't need it, I'll email you with it mate Making CD's of other peoples wisdom won't be included.

Nearly forgot, body snatching and drug running are still very much alive and kicking in my part of England

Teddybuyer;
In the Colonies we refer to "ideas that you can become famous for" as Patents. And yes of course,famous people can steal as many as their honored hearts desire.
You see, in the USA brains are cheap! We only suffer from a lack putting ones thoughts into actions. That seams to be the most difficult task of all; but amazingly, one that T. Edison did very, very well.
Since bodysnatching is "alive and well" in the homeland; how about selling misshapen skulls of unclaimed criminals on ebay. A person could practice reading the bumps on the noggin' of the maleficent and develope a talent. I really feel that the "service" of Phrenology is an up-and-coming item and sure to make loads of money on ebay! Now if you use this wonderful idea please don't forget to send a ..... "royalty"!
