I guess I have to vent this morning. I get an email this morning from one of my bidders on an auction that I had just sent an EOA. She tells me that I misrepresented my auction because she thought it was something else (a large doll house) and not an ornament. My auction shows a really good picture of the ornament in the box, states new in the box, Shipping is 3.20 (3.20 to ship a large doll house- pullease) and whatda ya know it is listed in the general section of the Hallmarks (Christmas ornaments). (looking at her feedback she has been bidding on doll houses in their respective categories pullease) I wrote back a very nice but firm email citing the URL for binding agreements and telling her that if she had been upfront me with and stating she had made a mistake instead of placing the blame on me, it would have been different. I also told her nicely that I would have to file an NPB and a FVF and then would leave appropriate feedback for not honoring the auction. Then I asked her to advise me what she wanted to do. So I guess I'll get to see what kind of email she sends me back. I don't like to get into confrontations, but darn it people read the *#$$ description. I am very accommodating and bend over backwards for my customers, but darn it do NOT place the blame on me when it is actually your mistake, not mine. (Take responsiblity for your own actions - something that a lot of people do not do now-a-days (another subject totally)

Then I had two people that I emailed about 5 times each and nothing. Then what happens the cost of the item appears in my paypal account. I write back to both stating the shipping needs to be included, one person complies nicely, the other begrudgingly sends me the cost of shipping. what's up with that? One is a new ebay buyer (I can excuse that one) but the other is not (the begrudging one).

Another person sends me a note 5 days after my EOA email and tells me he has been out of town. Oh yeah and 3 deadbeats in the last two weeks. Ummm, lets see, I sincerely believe this has to do with ebay putting all the burden on the sellers and the buyers (not all mind you, so don't get anything in a wad) are doing whatever they wish knowing ebay will do little to nothing. I have brought this up with customer service before and they have just paid a little lip service to me.

Even though the holidays are a good time to sell, I am wondering if all this grief and aggravation is worth it during this time period. It does, after a while spill over into my RL and I don't want to turn into a grinch.

I know, I know just let it roll off my back. After a while, when it is one thing after another, it does begin to grate on me. Actually this is the first firm email I have ever sent in regard to "I don't want to pay, I just like to bid". Well, I guess I will check my auctions, get my packages ready for the post office and go spend some money at the store.

Thanks for listening. You all have a great week-end and stay warm.

There has been an increase in deadbeat bidders over the past month. Ebay is suposed to suspend them after 3 NPB are filed, but never seems to.

This is one of the reasons why I unregistered my account with ebay. I just can't afford to put up with deadbeats and the other scammers.

Ebay should refund the listing fee as well as the Final Value fee when a deadbeat is encountered.

I have left negative feedback on all deadbeats and encourage all sellers to not be wimpy and do the same.

You can help other sellers and ultimately yourself by leaving appropriate feedback so the next time the deadbeat bids, his bid can be deleted.
