Any one have any advice on how to deal with this? Listed an item with opening bid of $9.99. Bidder #2 bid $50.00, which was the current bid until 3 hours before auction end. Then bidder #2 retracted & now the first bidder has the bid at $9.99. Any ideas or recourse?
Thanks.

It sure sounds like "bid shielding". Before sending the info to Safe Harbor, check the bidding history of the two bidders involved. If you find this scenario occuring repeatedly, with one or the other ending up as the winning bidder because the other retracted, include those item #'s in your email to Safe Harbor. If your suspicions are right, both will be suspended, leaving you free to relist the item.

Thanks for your thoughts. It worked out ok. Someone sniped at the last minute & item ended at $44.00. So I was happy, that it didn't go for $9.99.
Thanks again!

Hello Local,
You might want to spend the few minutes necessary to check out the bid histories of the retractor and the losing bidder.
If this was bid shielding that was foiled by another bidder then reporting it to safeharbor and bringing their attention to it might save other sellers (or even yourself) some grief in the future.
