My camera takes crappy pics at night, sorry about the quality. I am crying, so is this doesn't make sense I apologize. This bowl has been in my family forever, & my grandmother gave it to me today. I have been crying ever since, it has touched my heart so.
It is beautiful, in perfect condition. There are no maker marks at all. I would like to know how much it is worth so I can insure it, & who it was made by. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, It looks like goofus glass. Is it a clear dish with gold and red paint on the bottom?

Yup, it appears to be Goofus glass.

Is the bowl china or glass? This looks like porcelain or china to me. If so it could be Nippon or German.

Edited to say that my husband just looked at it and he said it looks like glass to him. Neither one of us wears glasses so......

The pic I'm looking at looks like an ivory porcelain, not glass.

Without a mark, it's hard to attribute. My guess would be it's perhaps English or Bavarian. Limoges is another possibility.

Thanks fountainhouse. My husband is betting that I am wrong.

fastback4, you will have to pay much more for sentimentality.

I have nothing helpful to contribute as I know nothing about glass or porcelain, but I just wanted to say that the bowl is lovely!

It is not goofus, it is porcelain. It reminds me of Nippon, but has absolutely no markings. I wish it was daylight, so I could show an accurate picture. Thanks everyone for your comments!
