Hi I am new to this game and am wondering what other sellers think is the best online payment scheme for Australian sellers. All advice on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you want safety and don't mind paying for peace of mind, use bidpay (which charges the buyer). If you want to take a chance on a fraudulent payment or a charge back without cause shutting down your account in order to save a few bucks, use paypal. For more details, read

Bidpay is fine, but they charge a minimum of $5 to the buyer and they'll send you an International Western Union Money Order in US dollars. Your bank may charge you a conversion fee.
From Bid pay's FAQs:
You need to make sure that you can accept a Western Union US$ international money order and that you will be able to cash it. Western Union money orders can be cashed globally, but some sellers might have problems with payment delays or excessive currency conversion rates and you should check with your local bankers to ensure that you will not meet with these problems.
I've been using PayPal almost all year with no problems. But, if you've been reading these boards, you'll see that some people have had big problems with PayPal. Buyers aren't charged any fees, so they'll prefer PayPal over BidPay. You'll be charged international fees of 2.6% of the amount plus $0.30 per transaction.
