I'm obviously investing in the wrong kinds of stock and selling at the wrong auction site...

They could sell it as brand new - the odometer probably can't count either

But seriously, selling this truck is in really poor taste - about what I would expect from the Yahoo yahoos.

I wonder if the Red Cross plans to use any of the funds from this 'charity' sale to help out the survivors of those other Ryder truck incidents (Oklahoma and New York).

Just curious...why is selling this truck in "poor taste"?

I guess next the Florida DOT will be auctioning off chunks of asphalt from the road the truck drove on!!!!

I think one of the most interesting thing on this deal is that if you look at the bid history, its clear that MANY of the bidders are simply bidding to get publicity for their web sites. Pretty clever.

Did I misread the auction? I thought they were auctioning it off to benefit the Red Cross.
Lovestosell: I'm with you. I don't get why this is poor taste.
Like it or not this truck is a piece of history. If they had to sell it I like the idea of doing it in the name of charity.

Maybe we should make the person who thought the auction idea up PRESIDENT!!!

It's up to over $81,000. Why would anyone spend so much on such a thing? A month after this election brouhaha is over no one will care.

How many uncounted ballots are still inside?

I don't think this truck has any historical significance! They could auction off the buildings where the ballots were counted! The boxes that carried the ballots! Hand prints of the driver who drove the truck! Gas receipt!

Fools they are!

Why not just auction off Gore and Bush?

First bid wins. International bidders only...

Oh great ... now you accept International bids

OK - how much for shipping the short fat one? The other one is just a bit too good at faking sincerity and I don't think he would fit into my culture ...

Hey, hey, hey! What did the international community do to deserve those two?

Although, sending them to Saddam Hussein appeals to me...

I apologize to my international friends. I was just attempting to get them out of the country before they do any real damage....

As if they haven't done damage to our country already?

Shadowcat ... the CIA "apparantly" couldn't find Sadam during the last scuffle - what makes you think they can find him now?

At least it doesn't come in kit form. I was never very good at following some of those instructions they usually include.

I never had any problems putting them together, but in this case, I think it would be hard to find model paint in "Puke Yellow"

I'm surprised the word RARE didn't find it's way into the truck posting...

I think eBay owns the rights to the word "Rare" ...
