I am a Texas transplant from New Mexico and I think Texas people are very friendly. As a seller most buyers say I am great to deal with. The Texas sellers I have bought from have given me excellent service.

No not everything is bigger in Texas just SOME of the hairstyles and most of the smiles.

Speaking of Texans, I just got a terrific story from my niece who lives in Austin -

This guy was visiting a small town in Texas and came upon a wonderful nativity scene. It was beautifully done, except the three wise men were wearing fire helmets. He puzzled over this for several minutes and couldn't figure it out. Finally, on the way out of town, he stopped at a quick stop and asked the clerk what was up with the fire helmets.

The clerk exploded. 'You damn yankees never read your bibles!'

The man said that he indeed had read the bible and couldn't recall anything about firemen.

The clerk started thumbing through a bible she had grabbed, found the passage and thrust it in the man's face.

'See there - it says 'And the three wise men came from afar!'

Happy holidays all!

Jane

Oh Jane, that is to funny!
Me for one I think Texas ebayers are great people, I know several of them personally. But then again that could be because I am a native Texan, have always lived here and still do.

What's this thread really implying? I like Texas eBayers just fine, but I wouldn't want one as PREZIDENT!

If it wasn't for Texans on eBay, I wouldn't have an online business.

For some reason, about 40% of our sales are from Texas, although we are not in their region. I've never had a deadbeat from Texas, never an ugly scenario, checks have always been good and on time. No complaints here.

ALL of my TEXAN winners have been GREAT!

There's only ONE Texan I can't stomach...

duh...duh...duh...dubya!

Well now he gets his chance to turn Social Security into a FEDERAL PROGRAM!

And we used to laugh at Alfred E. Neuman? "Ask not..." is about to be replaced by "What, me worry?"

I have to like Texans - seems like half my family lives there now....

as long as we're not talking football....and as long as they're not fixin' to do anything.

I can handle the y'all's - but the 'fixin to's' just gotta go......

Took me a while to figure out the soda thing (around here our sodas have ice cream )

I did not realize that "fixin' to" sounded strange, I say that a whole lot, am from Oklahoma, just been a Texan for one year. Seems like about 40% of my sales the last 3 years have also come from Texas. Mainly the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Heather

I started using ebay while I was living in Texas. My husband is a native Texan and I lived there 22 years. I don't know why anyone else in Texas shops on ebay but I can tell you why I did. We were a 4 hour drive from the closest big city. Shopping was very limited where we were. I have a T shirt that says it all "Middle of Nowhere-30 miles from Water, 3 feet from Hades". Maybe I ought to sell them on ebay.
I love Texas and Texans with the exception of the Little stupid one that just stole, I mean won the election.

my husband is from texas and he always peppers his phrases with "great big ole"..."and little itty bitty"...and "i'm goin' to go and"...by the way, there is a texan(as noted by his "about me" logo on ebay) who bids BIG! particularly in an area where i like to bid...he ALWAYS gets what he wants! it's so depressing-it's a guarantee that i will NOT get what i want if he's bidding on it... my nickname for him is daddy warbucks, and i want him to adopt me! so i can go live in one of the cabins with fireplace and spa on his resort in the texas hills!

lol december3 I would buy one of those shirts!

This is one of my email sig lines (used most often in summer, of course): "If I owned Texas and all hell, I would rent out
Texas and live in hell," Civil War era General Phil Sheridan

But it's okay for me to poke fun, because I'm a native Texan and all. I have an absolute love-hate relationship with my state. My family is from here for generations back, "Texas pride" runs deep... but we don't like Bush and we are ashamed of the high poverty, the "good ole boy" network that is very alive and well, and some of the die hard racist BS that just won't die. So, I'll defend Texas and Texans with all my heart but truth be told, I would love to MOVE out of here. I'm in South Central Texas, one of the WORST places for allergy sufferers, and between that and the idiotic weather I am nearing the end of my rope with my home state.

I'm longing for a place with four distinct seasons... as opposed to our "summer" for 9 months a year.

About bidders; I have noticed a large number of my own bidders are from Texas, too.. and so far so good.
