I ran an auction for a couple ornaments with BIN. They sold in two days and the bidder emailed me immediately asking for a Billpoint invoice. They explained they wanted to pay as quickly as possible because they wanted the ornaments as a Christmas present.

So I sent the invoice and waited and waited and waited. That was on December 7. I sent a reminder on the 12th that the invoice was never paid.

I was planning on doing the NPBA thing tomorrow (11 days after auction end). I checked the bidder today only to find he's been NARU'd. He had 1 positive feedback, no negatives, and the very scary sunglasses when he bid on my auction. He only bid on one other auction since mine but was not the winning bidder, so I have no idea why he was NARU'd.

But, my question is (finally!), why would a bidder go to all that trouble to request an invoice and give me a story about why he bought the ornaments when he obviously had no intention of paying?

Could have had good intentions but not the ability to pay for the auction.

I had a bidder go all out to get an item. Turns out this woman was bidding out of control and had no more credit or cash and was NARU when it came time to pay for the auction.

You never really know...
