I tried to log on to my Paypal account recently and was told my account had been restricted for administrative reasons. I emailed them and after a 4 day wait got a reply that there was suspected illegal activity in my account. I was not notified of this activity just restricted from withdrawing funds from my own account. Now I am trying to close my account and they won't even let me do that. I have told them I no longer want Paypal logos in my auctions and they keep inserting them. Someone please help!! Put me in touch with a consumer protection agency or a good lawyer.

This happened to me too on 10/26 and it still hasn't been resolved. In fact, just two days ago they finally replied to even tell me that it was restricted for suspected fraud. It took them over a month and a half just to tell me that.
I sent at least 10 emails, and each time I got their canned reply after about a day, then 2 days after that I would get some support person telling me they were looking into it, which they obviuosly were not.
Then near the beginning of December after well over a month I called their support #: 402-935-7733 And that person as well could not tell me why or anything else. A phone support zombie. All he did basically was listen and put in another email to their system, which I'd already done.
Now this shouldn't take any effort to research, I have $800 in my account, all of it came from one friend of mine. I haven't made any payments, or got any money in months. It's ridiculous! With as few transactions as I've done, less than 10 they should have been able to resolve this in less than an hour.
I would not suggest that anyone ever use PayPal. Their support is terrible, and with $800+ of my money sitting in their system they haven't done anything to show that they would like to keep me as a customer.

If you find a good lawyer or someone else let me know. I have a lot of documentation on this and will be happy to provide it to you. I got the same message as you about my account being restricted.
