Is the Canadian "Post Office" open on Sundays to ship packages?

Thanks...

Hi Labbie1, I think all post offices are closed on Sunday in Canada. In our area they have always been closed on Saturday also. I don't know about Saturday openings in the larger centers though.

It depends where you live in Kanada, some are, and some aren't, but the Posties never deliver up here on the weekends.

The postal outlet where my packages get sent if I'm not home is in a Seven-Eleven Store---and they are open for pick-up and mailing on Sunday. But the postal truck doesn't pick-up anything I take there--so it sits there til Monday.

They must have hired scabs, Canada Post employees don't deliver on weekends, ever.

Redeer---at Christmas in some areas they do have Saturday and Sunday delivery by Canada Post employees. Not scabs---and you are only a scab if there is a strike.

I remember how amazed I was to read here two years ago that the U.S. post office was making home deliveries on Saturday December 26.

Meanwhile, here in Canada there was no home delivery for a 4 day period (Friday Dec. 25 until Tuesday Dec. 29). Of course I got a lot of e-mail enquiries that year from American eBay buyers who wondered where their merchandise was. It was embarrassing explaining that I received payment late because of our post office Christmas "sabbatical".

While some Postal Outlets may be open on Sunday, they are really just acting as drop points for Monday pick-ups.

The mail doesn't move in Canada on Sunday.

Stockticker----the USA does not get Boxing Day at a Stat holiday. Actually it doesn't exist at all in the states. So if a Stat like Boxing Day falls on a weekend--they get the Monday off instead
