I've noticed that it drives many of you nuts to look at an auction and in the TOS nothing is stated about shipping fees. I understand what you are saying and agree that it would help if the shipping fees are stated in the auction. I do have a set fee in my auctions, and it's not one of those that is unbelievable high. My problem is that many times, expecially here lately I have the cost to low and end up paying some of the postage myself. Now 25 or 50 cents here and there is no big deal, but there have been some that I was a $1.00 or more off on, and it seems like it is happening on most of my packages.
I've read where some of you have mentioned a site that you can go to and calculate the shipping fees. Can someone list the site address please.
Also, you have to have the weight in order to get the price, so does this mean I can use a regular scale at home like one you weigh yourself with or do I need a certain kind. If it is a certain kind of scale where can I get one at?
Thanks so much!

I purchased my scale at SAM's club for less then $25.00. It weighs up to 4lbs. The same scale sells on ebay and they claim it is a 10lb scale. But the mfg does say 4lbs!

I just purchased a 4lb digital scale on eBay for $26. Until then, I was bringing my items in to work to weigh on the office scale. I have a chart on my computer desk door of weights and postal rates. I have one column as straight rates for when I use free recycled shipping supplies and another column where I calculated in the cost of my shipping envelopes. I refer to this page as I write my auction descriptions.

I purchased my postal scale on Ebay...just do a search. Not expensive and has saved many a headache. It is a 4 lbs. scale and yes it really does weigh up to 10 lbs.

I also found my postal scale on ebay...the one that the mfg. says weighs 4 pounds, but the seller says weighs 10. I 'studied' the sellers explanation of the scale, looked at their feedback; was satisfied with what I found there, so I bid on, and got a scale! And YES! It does weigh up to 10 pounds. It does weigh in ounces, so I just divide by 16. The scale is flat, and at first it was hard to weigh big things, as it covered up the view of the weight. I gave this some thought; (hummm; what to do?) then got one of those light weight (about 5 ounces) storage boxes, shoe box size, and I put this on the scale first, then put my package on top. This works. The scale comes with instructions how to allow for this. I just weigh and deduct the weight from the total, that way I don't have to decipher the instructions! For the money, I have been very satisfied with my scale! How did I ever do without it?? (I don't know if I am allowed to put here ID of the seller?) I would recommend it! Another thing I did when I got it, I weighed the large prioritiy box, with an average amount of packing paper I would normally use, if the item was not breakable; and was amazed that this weighed almost a POUND! No wonder I ended up paying the difference from 3.20 to the 4.30 rate many times! Sometimes the weight would be ONE ounce over the 2 pounds, which threw it right up to 4.30! Now, I keep an open box, of all sizes near my scale- I wrap the item aprox. as I would if I were ready to ship, and have had great success! I, too, learned NEVER, NEVER pre-package, complete with tape...because as soon as you do, a question about something you could have never thought to include in the description, no matter how thorough you THOUGHT you were being, will arrive via email... and the answer is neatly taped up in the box!! Then there are the few who never acknowledge they have WON the auction....so you end up with a nicely packaged box going nowhere!
(I try to 'soften' serious stuff with a little humor, and have found I have had less NPB since I added a funny 'plea' to the end of my description template! One never knows what will work, do one? Ha!) Love this board. Ya'll KNOW so much; and it makes me feel so 'seasoned' when I read something I alreadyknow))) (thems alla my chinS) mizscarlett1 on ebay.
