Who has that PayPal customer service number? I have seen it here somewhere before. I haven't had anyone pay me with PayPal for at least three weeks. I have a zero balance in there. Today I have used PayPal several times to pay for auctions that I have won. I always was VERY careful to select the option to use my credit card. I have way over $5,000 that I can use with Visa. The last time I accessed my PayPal account it said I have about $1,500 that I can use. What is going on? I have a limited amount of time to pay for gifts if I am going to get them here in time for Xmas. GGGGRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Here's the number, 800 836-1859 or 888 221-1161, but don't waste your evening, they have all their customers calling after restricting our accounts!
We've been trying constantly for an hour and having no luck!

I agree, dont waste your time. They locked my account 7+ weeks ago and have only replied to my email once out of 10 times. I faxed them my DL, Visa Statement, and a bunch of other crud they wanted and I've been waiting a week even since I did that without even a peep.
STAY AWAY from PayPal. They have $822 of my money locked in there, this could be you.

From what I can gather from the other boards, they are having a major snowstorm where the PayPal customer service center is located (Omaha I think) and most of the customer service reps could not get to work today. You would probably be better off waiting to talk to customer service - as they are probably not only swamped but short handed to boot.

Okay, I'm back. My husband kept pushing redial for about half an hour and then turned the phone over to me. I also got this automated message after I repeatedly (about 5 times in 5 minutes) emailed PayPal.
Dear PayPal Customer,
Your account has been unrestricted and you may resume full use of PayPal.
Due to the implementation of additional anti-fraud efforts, we erroneously
restricted use of your account earlier this evening. That restriction has
now been lifted. Your transaction log will accurately indicate if
transactions in progress at the time were completed.
We apologize for this inconvenience. We will continue to strive to provide
you with the best possible customer service and consumer protection, and we
thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
The PayPal Team
This was also the gist of what I was told on the phone. I told the rep that I was busy sending End of Auction messages to my buyers telling them not to use PayPal as they were restricting sellers accounts with no reason given.
