I got my tree up and decorated my house in between pictures and listing. Sales have been slow and not as I had hoped, so I said what the hey. I am not listing anything until after Christmas, I deserve a break. Now I will have time to bake some cookies, make some Christmas ornaments and clean my ebay pit. I am fortunate because I do not depend on my ebay profits to make my mortgage or pay other bills, so I can do this. I'm missing something though, the feeling of giving. I enjoy wrapping packages special for my customers and going the little extra for them. I do this mostly for me, not necessarily for them. So instead, I took a couple of angels off the tree, am baking a big plate of cookies for my postal guys, and sent a check to the Salvation Army. I also thank God that I am fortunate to be who I am and have what I do. Now I have worked hard all my life and have earned it, but still I have to be greatful for being able to accomplish what I have.
So, I wish you all a few minutes where you can stop all the frenzy and stress and reflect upon yourselves and have a sense of peace. I wish you all a wonderful and peaceful holiday season. May all your wishes come true.

Thank you llama_lady! What a nice post.
You're right, it's good to take some time out to think about more than the busy schedules we all keep for one reason or another, and about the positive things in our lives and our good fortune.
And I like your term "ebay pit." I'm going to have to share that with my husband, because I have one too!

Doin' the right thing!
I went through a ton of stuff and donated to a few local charities that have a bigger wish list than I do. And I backed off the listings so I could have fun and goof off.
and be thankful that I can!!!

I love the cookies for the postal guys idea! I didn't even think of them......and where would I be without them? I love it! I'm packing some (of my 8 dozen cookies I baked this weekend) up now.

For you guys that get a lot of your mdse thru UPS, don't forget your UPS delivery person. Mine is so great, he brings things into my home, to my back porch, hides packages when I'm not home, and stops me in my car if he sees me out to tell me he's got something for me. He gets a fairly large check every year, and he's worth every penny of it.
Same with my garbage men. I'm the only one in the neighborhood who gets the tops put back on and the cans placed back in the driveway instead of thrown to the ground. And if I forget to put my cans out, they come up to the door to get them.
All the people in our lives who do the things we don't even think about until it's not there anymore are important, and they all appreciate a little something at Christmas. Money talks.
