HAHAHAHAHAHA

I am laughing my butt off over an item I recently place for auction on ebay.

I bought this THING at a garage sale for about $5.00 simply because it looked so scary. It is some kind of dentist tool with molds of a set of teeth on it. VERY CREEPY LOOKING.

Since I was in on Free listing day I was tossing in items that had been sitting in the back room for awhile. I put it in for $15.00 and the thing is up to $177.00 already !!!

My description left much to be desired as i do not know exactly what this THING is I pretty much stated just that in the auction.

Apparently the 7 pictures I took of this THING helped alot !

Just goes to show you can pretty much sell anything on ebay, even if you don't know what the hell it is !

It's probably a denture mold, even though you didn't post any pics of it. I don't know why anyone would want one, but they're apparently pretty desirable to someone who collects that sort of stuff. My hubby was had a collectibles store owner in his past life, and one of the items that he requested back from his ex (and never got, of course) was a set of antique denture molds. This garage sale wasn't in the Seattle area, by any chance, was it?

always pickersangel everywhere

No it wasnt in Seattle.

But I did put 7 pictures of it in the ad. It wasnt just the molds. It was the THING that holds the molds. I called it a mold holder. HAHAHAHA

It item is actually called an "Articulator" if it is what I think it is
http://www.qualitydentistry.com/dental/information/articulator.html

It helps you line up the molds (top & bottom) so the teeth are in line the way they are in the person's mouth.

They are very expensive to buy from a Dental supply company--and an old one will do the same job as a brand new one from a dental supply company

Zazzie,

Yep, thats what it is alright.

I wonder if I should even add that to the description since it already got a few bids.

I wonder if this new info would help it get a higher price ?

CIX~~

Hubby is a surgical nurse at a local hospital.
The tool is a device used for measuring the degree of correction necessary for a mandibular shift with regard to TMJ.
He says it may be used for other applications but this is the only one he has seen.
Hope this helps.

You do realize that this kinda Medical Equipment is also in vogue with the S&M Community.

I know of one Mistress who is a big collector of Dentistry Equipment. Perhaps she is the one bidding on this.

I just took a look at the auction...strangest looking thing I've ever seen! I was just looking at the other things the high bidder has been purchasing and they are either a dentist or have some kind tooth fetish! I gotta run...have to go look through my dentist's garbage for stuff to sell on eBay!
