The important lessons that I learned when I first joined eBay in 1998 still hold true today. eBay is about people, about finding success on your own terms, and even about giving people the freedom to supplement their income through trading on eBay.

Now they see themselves as ther "Great Benefactors" of the human race?????

Hoy! Gevalt!

We, as people and consumers, know when something is good. I dislike their self back-patting and patronizing attitude!

Only an opinion...

This type of "bless our little hearts" type of message always comes before some major ebay corporate action. It's some sort of stock pumper or "shoe about to fall" pre-emptive manifesto.

...and even about giving people the freedom to supplement their income through trading on eBay.

Odd, no mention of the millions that eBay has made in the process!

For some reason, I don't think their operational motivation is to help us make money.

SUPPLEMENT their incomes...?

How about all those who make their LIVING trading on ebay?

Once again, Meg proves how out of touch and clusless she is. Does she have the slightest hint how many people make their full-time living on eBay?

Apparently Meg frequents a different ebay than the rest of the world...

I guess we could always hope for an eBay version of Jonestown

I hadn't realized just how fast and far eBay's stock has dropped. From nearly $130 in March to under $30 yesterday.

Ouch.

I'd like to think that that is the market's reaction to the silly and anti-seller moves that eBay keeps implementing.

I'd like to, but I know it is just a profit and growth potential issue.

If Yahoo is a target for ebay take over, they will probably spend any profits that might come out of the deal in court. Talk about a monopoly!!

I think it would really suck if Ebay & Yahoo merge.

Gee, here I thought my dumpster diving was my "supplementary" income. Thanks for the wake up call, Meg! Duh...

Dear "Clueless in San Jose"

Once again your magnanimous uttering to us lowly serfs has been a special moment in this trying time.

May the coming year provide you with a ten fold return of all that you have done to and for the true eBay community, the users.

Hey Guys and Gals ...

eBay is not like nicotine or drugs ... you can leave it anytime you want. If you really want to express your displeasure, stop using their venue. It's as simple as that
