I see it all the time.

Usually in emails and most recently in copies of my emails returned with replies to my message.

What happens and why to cause &nbsp.

Should I do anything ?

I believe nbsp; is a space in HTML language. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Perhaps you are reading HTML formatted eMail in plain text?

It's a nonbreaking space. You will generally see it when people use HTML email and use two spaces after a period instead of one, or two or more spaces in other areas.

is the html command to add an extra space for formatting purposes, as others have pointed out here. You can only put one space in a line of text using the space bar. If you need an extra space then the above command is used.

Another handy html command is © If you use this in the description box on an eBay listing it makes the copyright symbol show up. eg., ©1950 will show up with a C in a small circle in front of the date.

Does anyone know the command for the R as in registered trademark in a circle?

Dear Wedge,
The registered mark can be done on of 2 ways
1) ®
or
2) &#174
Good luck!

Actualy is an attempt at communicating with the aliens in the nebuirir system. Kinda like an interstellar CQ.

Dear School: Thanks for the info! I thought it would be something like that!

Unknown: I think you're onto something. And here I was thinking the aliens were trying to communicate with me through the fillings in my teeth!

True story...A bidder sent my friend an e-mail and it contained a few of those "&nbsp". My friend thought it was an acronym (like LOL or ROFL). After a few minutes she (incorrectly) figured out that it meant "and, no bulls**t please"!
