After taking a much needed break after Thanksgiving, I scheduled 10 items to launch today for a New Year's Day closing date. I just checked them and found that seven have item numbers in the 532 million range, but three auctions (two books and a sewing pattern) have item numbers in the 1 billion range -- two at 1.4 billion and one at 1.2 billion.

Anyone know the reason for this? Surely the free listing day didn't generate THAT much activity!

I wondered what was happening also - wrote to support and they said they are testing out the 10-digit numbers to be sure they would work. Should not afect our auctions in any way. Mine have done just fine.

Got worried whether that should be an a or e and left out an f in affect - or is that effect - no it's affect!????
