I do not know HOW this person did this. But, I am looking for a new digital camera and have decided on a Kodak DC280 Zoom..so I went to ebay to read more about it and get some prices before heading out tommorrow to buy one.
I found this one auction that had a terrific write up on what it did, and what it comes with and so I went to copy it to my email and it shut down my zone alarm AND disconnected me!
When I went to connect again a little box showed up and said 'This is copyrighted material and those who copy it will be prosecuted'...huh???
So if this can somehow be done...what is to stop someone from giving you a virus etc?
I had one guy I tried to leave a neg on and each time it disconnected my computer(different days)!
Now this is spooky...what do you all think?
Have you ever had this happen to you?

Are you sure that's the right auction #?
I found another that said what you stated, although it didn't shut down my zone alarm or computer or anything. I just got the right click disabled feature.

The auction # you posted I can copy and paste with no problem.

I was so shocked when I got disconnected I really don't remember.
The one that you found did it have Happy New Year that floats around the text of the ad?

Do you think my zone alarm disconnected me?
Although it didn't give me the alert screen.
(And the icon is missing from my screen right now...as well as my prodigy icon..sign).

Yes, the one I couldn't copy had the "Happy New Year"

But I didn't get disconnected. I went back and tried it a few more times. Zone alarm is fine too.

Maybe a coincidence?

Maybe you could print it out?

What's funny is you know he/she copied the text and now is telling you it is copyrighted material!

Good Luck!

IMLDS2,

Please edit the auction number out of your post or I will have to lock the thread so you can follow the CG's regarding inviting a seller.

I'll give you 1/2 hour. If you haven't edited, I am sorry but I will have to delete it.

Emailing this message to you as well as posting in the thread.

Maybe your getting a 'LAST CHANCE" to reconsider your decision and switch over to buying a Sony.

St.Prophet, the patron saint of sellers, may be interceding.

Or it could be just a guy tired of people stealing his ads who is fighting back.

IMLDS2 -

Get into yourbrowser settings and DISABLE Java Scripting and ActiveX Controls.

Than try the auction again. Whatever it did, it did with one of those scripting languages.

And yes, if you have Java Scripting and ActiveX Controls enabled, there is nothing to prevent someone from shoving a hostile script at you.
