Exchangepath, paypal, etc. Are any of them worth it???
I reluctantly signed up with exchangepath(this was my first payment service)because they sounded good. Now I keep hearing negative things about them and its starting to scare me. Are there any of the services that can be trusted????
I use bidpay and like them..but since they charge $5 and up alot of my buyers don't use them. Should I just go back to the good ol' paper money orders and checks???
Please advise me...I'm getting really worried.

I've had no problems with PayPal as a seller, but I highly recommend that anyone considering opening an account with them read the numerous posts on this board and over in the Partners forum before doing so. Using PayPal without being verified and conforming to the Seller Protection policy is asking for trouble. If you're willing to verify and meet the SP criteria, you should have smooth sailing.

I personally think PayPal is riskier for the buyer to use, at this point. Their "Buyer Protection" plan doesn't offer much protection at all. Even if you make sure that your seller is verified before sending payment, they only process fraud claims involving non-receipt of merchandise, and will only refund to you any amount that they are able to recover from the seller. Be aware that if you use PayPal to pay an unverified seller or PP isn't able to recover your money under the Buyer Protection plan, and you do a chargeback on your credit card to recoup your loss, your PP account will be restricted. You also need to know that if you make a payment for more than the account balance of your PP account, the additional amount will be charged to your verifying bank account, rather than your credit card, unless you change the setting in the final screen of the transaction process. Having used PP since July, this is my biggest personal gripe about them, up to this point.

As a seller, I feel that by offering various means of payment acceptance may help attract buyers. As a buyer, I like the fact that I can instantaneously zap a payment and expect my package a short time thereafter.

I use PayPal. I had one minor problem which was resolved. I am thankful that I did not switch to Exchangepath to find myself in another situation.

PayPal has served my purposes well. I am quite pleased with the service I have been getting from them.

Although, I prefer to receive personal checks and money orders (because they don't cost me any extra), I still offer a choice to the buyers.

My preference is Billpoint. No silly games and e-checks are free for buyers and sellers.

In the event a customer does try to chargeback a transaction, Billpoint does not restrict your entire account while it investigates.

Plus, it works beautifully in conjunction with "Buy It Now."

Paypal is how how most of my buyers pay me. I have not had any real problems, yet. I almost never bid on auctions that don't take paypal only because it is easier then buying a mo.

Just closed my exchangepath account.

If you are even thinking about EP read other's accounts on this fourm about how EP they froze accounts without any warning. Thank goodness I only had 14 dollars in my account at the time.

I wouldn't touch exchangepath with someone else's ten foot pole!

AW just distanced themselves from these losers also. GOOD JOB AW!!

A very good one is BidPay, for payments up to $500. US.
Buyers pay only a small fee. They are extremely fast & efficient. Turn around and the money is there.
International payments too.

as a seller, i have recently closed my accounts at ALL of the payment services except bidpay. one serious chargeback problem was enough to cure me of ever using them again. if you are a seller, you need to know that you have ZERO protection from a dishonest buyer thru any of these companies no matter how the rules read. these companies interpret their own rules as THEY see fit and ALWAYS rule in favor of the buyer. your auction terms don't mean a thing to them and you have no choice but to cooperate because they have your money until you do. you also need to know that each of these companies has come online with welcoming terms and then gradually, quietly, changed them all with no notice to users. unless you constantly re read the user's agreements, you won't know those rules have changed until you have a problem.
i have gone back to old fashioned checks and money orders and it's a relief!
