This is really really cool - but it takes about 3 minutes to load into your browser. It's a satellite photo of the earth with all the lights. Very interesting.

I first saw it on my Dad's computer at work today and it was okay - but when I came home and looked at it on my new computer it took my breath away - you can even see the snow in Antartica with it!

Isn't our universe just something else? Makes ya feel a tad insignificant, doesn't it?

It didn't show in mine completely the first time either, so I hit reload/refresh and then it worked - I'm so glad I finally contributed something useful to this board!

Thaaaaaaanks!
And I'd never have guessed that Africa would be so lit up! And Australia so very dark! Those are the main surprises to me.

Does Canada have electricity yet?
Just kidding!!
If you look in the very center of Australia you'll see eBay's headquarters - very dark

That awesome panorama should give everyone a real idea of the impact human beings have on this plant. Global warming... pshaw! CO2 and hydrocarbons elevated in the atmosphere by "measly" consumers... naw! In the words of one of the great thinkers of our time.. Rush Limbaugh! "Volcanos give off more hydrocarbons than people do!" Some folks should stick to what their best at... propagating fertilizer.
