I've had a heck of a time accessing my e-mail at Yahoo the past two days. Is this the shape of things to come? Maybe Yahoo is going to get a little TOO much like eBah!

IF Yahoo is going to charge BELIEVE ME that's a good strategy for them, for its business and for all its sellers, they know very well that a big percent of bidders on Yahoo don't complete the transaction, and why is that because selers pay a rdiculous price compared to eBay, AND BIDDERS KNOW THIS so they bid on Yahoo for 2 reasons, 1) to try to help you (shill bidding) and 2) They bid then decide if they want to purchase the stuff, and why is it? Because they know very well that you pay a misserable price for listing it, so they don't take it seriously, and Yahoo analysts know this very well, it's good for them to receive money from sellers without caring if they sell or not, THAT WORK FOR ANY BUSINESS, BUT only for a while, because if they keep it that way, its web site and business will come a joke, it will be a place where all irresponsible people get together and they just will play but will not buy any thing from their sponsors (sellers and advertisers) So if they don't stop this right now, if could be treat for their business NOT for the Auction and Auctioners business IF NOT for what Yahoo is. So, if I were a yahoo auction sellers I would be glad DEFFINITELY. What they are doing is stoping the game, they already made some money, and what they are concerned now is about their reputation. They will charge now BUT BELIEVE ME you won't get deadbeats as you are getting now.

Think about it. As a seller, if you are selling 10-20% (some sellers do worse) of the items you list and you have to pay fees on each and every item, you are not going to make much of a profit. Not only are they charging for the initial listing but each and every relist. This will kill your profit quick. I am already selling 1 out of 3 items (on Yahoo) at a loss. I mark it down each time it runs through until it sells. I can't afford to pay listing fees to Yahoo.
On Ebay I make a solid profit on almost every item that sells and sales average around 75%. I was using Yahoo as a place to relist to avoid paying fees to Ebay if the item doesn't sell on the second time through.
You are wrong about the deadbeat situation on Yahoo. We don't run into that many deadbeats. About the same amount as ebay. Fees aren't going to make the deadbeat situation any better. Do you think buyers actually care if we pay fees or not?
I have about 3 months worth of listing credits and after those are gone it's goodbye Yahoo! They are hurting themselves with this poorly thought out plan. They will lose the majority of the seller community and the only ones that will be left are businesses that can afford it. The people who are using Yahoo as a suplement to their income will be forced to move on...
They could have gone with a FVF or a flat monthly rate and most people would probably stick around, but as most internet businesses do, they think they can bleed you for everything they can get and you will gladly pay it. That's not very realistic...
