AW, please get rid of that annoying, migraine & epileptic episode-inducing 'LOVE YOUR JOB?' banner. I would NEVER click on an annoying flashing banner...this one is as bad as 'punch the monkey'.

I once emailed AW about a horribly annoying flashing ad they had for a credit card or something and they were very responsive. Guess I wasn't the only one complaining, but they got rid of it fast!

thanks...I will email them with the suggestion. Maybe if more of us agreed this was annoying that would help.

mrpotatohead, thanks for posting the link. But for some reason adsubtract doesn't work well with me...it works the initial time I install it and then never again after that. Unfortunately, I had to give up on it. That's too bad, because it does the job of filtering out the garbage very well.

mzalez, have you tried turning off the animations altogether? It solves not only the "Love Your Job" and "punch the monkey" problems, but also the blue bouncies don't bounce any more. Very restful.

In IE, go to Tools/Internet Options, click on Advanced, scroll down to Multimedia, and uncheck the box called Play Animations.

I have no idea how to do it in Netscape, though.

not SilkMoth anywhere but here

Thanks silkmoth, I'll try it. Some of those extreme bouncing smilies people post are distracting, too.

silkmoth, it works! FANTASTIC. I work so long on the computer everyday, any little bit to ease the eye strain goes a long way. There are nights I go to bed with burning and watering eyes from the long hours on eBay.

I upgraded from AdSubtract to AdSubtract PRO yesterday...

VERY well worth the $14.95 I paid.

You decide what you want to block or filter:

Advertisments
Animations
Autorefresh
Pop-Up windows
Background Music
Background Images
Cookies
Referrers
Java Applets
JavaScripts

You can find all cookies on your PC, choose which ones to keep, delete.

It marks the bad ones, and you can keep just the ones that you need, like to stay logged here at AW.

Logs, Stats, Ads

Will clean your "Browse history" and Internet files.

Works with IE and Netscape

It is really a great program.
Makes syou surf along a lot faster too.

The sound effects are really cool.
