I just had an auction end with a winning bidder with 0 feedback. It's a high ticket item and I was interested in seeing the bidding history on this 0 feedbacker to see if there was the potential for a deadbeat(i.e. new bidder winning LOTS of auctions). On doing a bidder search I got a new(to me) pop-up from eBay. Told me "not possible", "German privacy laws do not permit us to pass on information regarding bidders from Germany". Hmmmm.....
.
.My initial thought is that I like this unavailibilty and I hope that it expands to all eBay. As a seller, I rarely do a bidder search. In the above case, if I had found that this bidder had the look of a deadbeat there's nothing that I could do about it at this point. And in the past, in doing other bidder searches on my own winning bidders, I have found some "private" stuff. What business is it of mine if a bidder is bidding on adult stuff. They should have privacy. And it certainly can't hurt in fending off those slimy bottom feeders.
