Thank you for reporting your recent fraud claim to Lloyd's Claims
Administration. After reviewing your claim, I noticed that you paid with a
credit card and/or through a 3rd party payment company (i.e., Bid Pay, Bill
Point, Pay Pal). Please contact the credit card company and/or the 3rd
party payment company and dispute the charge/payment with them.
Your claim will be closed while the disputed transaction is investigated.
If the credit card company and/or 3rd party payment company deny your right
to chargeback or to reimburse you for the disputed transaction, please
provide a copy of that correspondence to me. Upon receiving that
information, I will review your claim at that time.

Hi,Just guessing here,If you were ripped off,And used a credit card for payment or a payment online Co.Then that is were you go to
Get your refund. You have up to 6 months to fight the transaction on a card. The insurance ,I believe is for checks and money order losses.Other wise you could claim a loss at two different places.

It's the great finger point- as these companies point fingers at each other and pass the buck.
PayPal's guarantee is only effective AFTER you make a claim through eBay's insurance. But eBay says to make the claim through PayPal before they will consider it.
I suspect both are worthless.
Has anyone ever had eBay or PayPal make a payment to honor their insurance/guarantee?

It's kind of like having health insurance for yourself and being on your spouse's as well. Both insurance companies want the other to be the primary insurance picking up the 80%.

This doesn't surprise me.
But I think you may end up between a rock and a hard place if you used paypal.
The last time I looked at paypals insurance, if the item was purchased on ebay they will only pay AFTER you file a claim with ebay and the claim has been settled.
Will be interesting to see if they will process your claim since ebay is saying they won't unless paypal denies your claim.

Damon! Glad to see you're alive and well. Would you mind dropping over to the PayPal board? BJGrolle and I have some questions about how Instant Purchase works.
I would also be interested in any reports of any on-line payment service you or others may have used when making a claim (such as Billpoint,Exchangepath, etc.) that was denied.

I, too, was trying to file a claim for $25.00 with paypal and ebay. Unfortuantely, ebay's insurance deductible was for $25. Ebay told me I could not file an insurance claim. As a result, I could not get the required paperwork to file a paypal claim. Paypal basically told me I was screwed. I closed my paypal account. I wasn't using it for anything but purchasing anyway, because of the new fees. Now, with a money order, I can at least track it, and then go from there.
fortunately, after 45+ days, I received my merchandise.

They denied my claim for the same reason. I got the very same email you got from them. I sent them the email from Paypal saying that my claim was denied and informed the person that was working on my fraud claim that it better be re-opened. He did then denied it a week later because he said the seller offered a refund. He is ignoring the copy of the final email I recieved from the seller telling me to stick the dishes up my *ss and do whatever I wanted to him because he was not messing with me.
Paypaldamon, a long time ago, when Andale was running their $5 for every auction that was posted promotion they decided in the middle of it that they could just quit without any warning when it had several days left. That after many promises to all of us that it would continue. The President of the company came here and posted some crappy story about why it was canceled. They were dishonest and your company is also. I told him then he was full of crap, and you are also. I had undeniable proof of being defrauded, did your company help me at all? Don't think so. You also posted here telling me to send you all the information from this, did you manage to get me any help? You do that often when someone is really having a problem with Paypal and how often do you really get something resolved? Your insurance is a joke and you and your company should be ashamed of yourselves for promoting it, it does nothing for any of us. Heather

Can someone show me where eBay excluded insurance because of the payment method? They don't make it obvious in their terms.
