Hi,

I won an auction and very shortly after that the seller was suspended. The seller registered on ebay on 12/20, my auction was started on 12/22 and ended on 12/25. I mailed my money order on the morning of the 26th. by new year's the seller had been suspended, and, of course, I haven't received my merchandise and am getting NO response to emails. I am trying to get a phone number and check the address, but because they are suspended, I can't get any information on ebay. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I am going to the post office tomorrow to request a copy of the money order. It was $32, so I can't file an insurance claim with ebay,[with a $25 deductible--not worth the hassles!] but, I will file a fraud claim in another week or two.

Thanks for any help you can give.

cindy

Try emailing either [email protected] or [email protected]. They used to be very helpful with problems of this type, perhaps they still can be.

I am not sure the the P.O. has copies of the Money Order, since the top detacheable portion of M.O. IS your copy. You are supposed to tear it off and keep it for reference.

Check the white pages on the internet by using the last name, address and if your lucky it might show up. Yahoo has a person find and also you can search 411 for the same thing. Good Luck

Shosh ... If it's a Canadian Money Order, there are 3 parts: the one you send, the copy you keep, and one that the post office keeps.

Cindy ... for such a small amount, the post office will be very reluctant to help you. Also, if the money order was cashed by the person it was made out to, it would not be considered mail fraud - the post office will suggest you get your local authorities to deal with it. If it was signed by someone else, fraud kicks in, but be prepared for a long wait and several hoops they will make you jump through. Good luck

Thanks for the info guys. I'd love to know why they were suspended so quickly. I wish I had checked the auction before sending my apymnet, because I do believe they already suspended then. If only I had checked!!!! Oh well, I will see if I can get ahold of katy or sonny and see if I can get any information.

Thanks!!!!!
