Does anyone have any referral, suggestion or assistance regarding merchant accounts. I need to find one for use on PC and maybe PDA as I teach Defensive Driving at different locations and can't use terminal type. And what about the fees? My sister has a merchant account, terminal type, with astronomical fees. I have never had one and want to be careful not to sign up for $$$ black hole. Also any feedback on terminal type will be passed on to sis.

1-800-456-5989. We got in on one of their 'specials'- 2.35%, but it may vary. We use it on
website. I don't have the URL.

I use heartland payment systems. I got 2.45% plus .30 per transaction.
My merchant account works in conjunction with my processing system. I use the computer and process via the internet (virtual terminal) at authorize.net. The gateway fee is $19.95 per month, plus .10 per transaction.
All in all, for strictly internet sales, the fees are not bad. Plus, no monthly "lease" fees for terminals since I process on line.

Why get a merchant account? Just go sign up with Propay.com and you can process credit cards on your own. I like it very well and is very easy to use.
