I too would love to hear from some folks that are currently participating in club99.
I participated in the very first one, and then several others following the initial event throughout their first year. I had terrific results, but haven't participated in ages and ages.
I've peeked at the home page a time or two and noticed they have a number of different promos. The last event I looked at was in December and appeared to have low participation, but perhaps it was in-between promos AND when many folks were taking a break from listing for the Holiday.
Anyway,I'm considering giving it a go again, and would like to hear from others before I take the plunge .

I occasionally do a search on club99 just to see what is listed. I remember last year about this time, they did a cold99 promotion and people listed stuff like mittens, coats, scarves, etc. I have never sold anything with the promotion, only purchased.

Hi again!
Sheesh ... that was rude of me not to explain for those of you who don't know. Forgive me?
Way back when (I believe around 2 yrs ago this summer) there was a slump in summer sales due to all the folks off vacationing. Several folks were discussing this on the Q & A. A seller named Crystal came up with the idea to try and help promote everyone's auctions by holding a special event and cross advertising.
The rules were you had to start your item for .99 cents with no reserve, you had to put the words club99 in your listing title, and you had to have a clickable link in your description that went to a club99 home page which listed links to everyone else's user ID and auctions they had listed.
Skippy and Dale chipped in and donated a feature auction for the first one. I'm pretty sure it was for an invisable man kit. That auction cross-linked to all the eBay users who participated.
It has since evolved and grown into being a number of different events. If I remember correctly it used to be held the first Saturday of the month. I'm not sure what the dates are now.
The first 2 items I listed I paid around $8 each for and they sold for over $600 for the pair. Pretty cool huh? I know the record sale is much higher than that.
If you do a search on eBay for club99 you ought to be able to find some participating auctions with the link for the home page.
You might try completed auctions too!
Hope this helps !

Wasnt there something bad going on about club99? Im sorry, dont mean to throw a wrench, but I could have sworn I heard some kind of rumor or read it on a forum somewhere that something was wrong about it.

I do the regular club99 event every month. It starts on the second Saturday of every month (yesterday) and runs for 7 days, all auctions start at 99 cents with no reserve and you must list at least 10 auctions.
There is a large group of sellers that participate now and I know of at least two new ones this month!
Needless to say, I'm a club99 buyer, too, and look forward to browsing through the hundreds of auctions each month looking for something I must have - LOL

Karen-
I guess I only answered part of your question - Some months are better than others, but in general, I do well with club99. Yes, some things close at 99 cents, but that OK, too.
I start the majority of my auctions at 99 cents. It might be scary for some people, though.

I've participated in Club99 since the very first one. Always been good for us. There's never been anything wrong or bad about Club99. There was an imposter with a club99.com. I was surprised about who registered club99.com.
