I am new to the auctioning world. We just got set up w/ Paypal but after reading all the negative feedback on a message board here I have asked for the money in my acct. to be deposited into my bank acct. and seriously thinking about closing the Paypal account. I know Ebay has a service also, I believe it is called Billpoint. Do any of you use this and have you had any problems? I do know their charges are more then Paypal but if they are honest it is worth it.

Thanks

Billpoint seems to work quite well. For some reason I often have buyers that can't seem to get it to work, though. (Not sure what that's about, but they end up getting frustrated and using PayPal or sending me a money order instead)

For many of us, PayPal works very well. I have bought and sold TONS of stuff through PayPal and never had problem one. And you can draw your money out & deposit it whenever you choose (all or part of it).

With Billpoint, they only lump deposits by the date pmt is made and they also charge for the depositing additionally.

They are both good services in their own rights.

After doin' much research, I chose Billpoint a few months ago....Although they are a bit more expensive, I am pleased with their service....No problems, quite a few sales...

sharkbaby...I've used Billpoint for paying....When I received the Billpoint email, there is supposed to be a direct link included...well, that never worked for me & the URL spans two lines of text, so you have to be real careful how you cut & paste it, otherwise you just can't get to the Billpoint invoice (drove me nuts the first time!)....Maybe that's the problem that you're users were having?...

Yeah, maybe. Thanks, Rancher!

Being that I'm not a computer whiz I usually have been at a loss as to advising the customer at that point. All I was able to offer them was my apology for the inconvenience!

I have a lot of customers that prefer PayPal so although I question their business practices I still offer their service. I have never had any problems with them, but to be safe I don't keep much in the account.

I also offer BillPoint. I'm beginning to see a shift toward BillPoint, but there are still enough PayPal payments coming in to warrant accepting both.

I have been using paypal almost since it was started and have had no problems. The biggest negative that paypal earned for itself is the WAY it went about it when it started. As for billpoint....I have had three transactions thru them now and it seems to take a LONG time to get the money deposited into my account. I had a 140.00 payment back on the ninth and when I went to the account page, it stated that I would not see a deposit till SOMETIME (within two days) AFTER THE SIXTEENTH. The buyer lives in the same state and I think that it would have been faster and cheaper to go regular mail with a money order. Is this normal for billpoint???? Anyway, paypal and billpoint are both good services. Western Union Money Zap is excellent but no one seems to use it. Their security is great. One of the posters here YISGOOD has a great website that rates the payment services....if he does not post on this thread I can see if I can hunt up the URL for you....Pam
