My auctions are very plain. I give the description and a picture. That is usually it.
I have seen other auctions that has sentences moving across the screen. Smiley faces jumping up and down. Some change the color of the words on their page. Differnt things that are interesting to look at when you are looking at an auction.
I would like to include some of these things in my auctions. But I have no idea where to find them. Can someone tell me where I can find these things? And if they cost how much? I use AW, and I cannot find any of these things anywhere at their web site.

I'm not really sure how to do some of that stuff - but I'm sure others on this board will let you know how. I just have one comment on this topic though. The simpler the auctions, the more likely you are to get bids.
I do not like auctions where things are jumping out at me, or blinking, or loud background colors, or music. They are all very irritating to most buyers. I know when I see an auction where music starts or things are blinking, etc - I immediately back out of the auction. I have a computer that handles it fine - I just find it very irritating. There are others, however - who still have older computers and things like that freeze their computer on them and it makes them unable to bid.
I use AuctionPoster to list all my auctions and they give you several different templates so you can have really nice backgrounds for your auctions - but I definitely wouldn't put in anything blinking, making noise, etc.

Think about this: Do you want people looking at the bouncing smiley faces or do you want them looking at what you are selling? Do you want them saying "WOW, look at the way those words wiggle!" or do you want to make it easy for them to read your description?

Doesn't AW's listing software have different backgrounds and coloured fonts?
As to the jumpy, running-by Java thingies, many instantly hit the "back" button...including myself..
You might buy a book on HTML and learn to create your own tables with backgrounds and colours, then download animated GIF's from a GIF site.
Do a search for animated gif...you will find gazillions.

Gosh Shosh!

You Know if you practice enough with HTML Java and active X anamated gifs these neat flashy binking scrolling bouncy things will just pour out of your finger as you type.
If you want the blue bounce in your auction copy it from one of the post on this message board just right click on it if you can catch it and save as a picture to your computer then just put it in your auctions like any other picture it will bounce all over your auction.
to get side to side scrolling text use the <marquee> </marquee> tag this will make words scroll from one side of your page to other only people useing explorer can see this people useing netscape will just wonder what everyone else is looking at.
to make text blink use <blink> </blink> tag this will make words inbetween the tags blink how ever only people useing netscape will see this blinking microsoft browser users will wonder what you put this word in the middle of nowhere for
For pointer trailer that program that makes words fallow you around as you move the pointer round the page there are scripts all over the web for these just do a search at any search engine to down load a copy of it.
If you have windows 98 check in your program menu for frontpage express this is a WYSIWYG Web editor that can help you make tables color backgrounds and multi colored text for your auctions and much more.
