I was noticing a fellow bidder competing with me on several items. I got curious and did a normal "Search by Bidder" to see what other items the guy was bidding on. I was NOT allowed by ebay to see them.
I am not talking any private info! Just the normal list of current or past auctions the user is/was bidding on.
I got this message from ebay.....
"Not possible
German privacy laws do not allow us to pass on information involving bidders from Germany. If you want to find all auctions this user has bid on, please contact the user directly by email."
How is a ficticious ebay user name granted international privacy protection for bidding and NOT selling? This bidder was not identified by an email address, but had shades and an alias.
The potential use of German email accounts for shilling seems real high if the German free emails are as loose as USA.

It's GERMAN LAW. Period. If eBay wants to have customers in Germany, they have to obey the German privacy laws for ALL persons living inside German borders.
