Here's a question for all of you:
When you send out EOA notices, or the like, do you also send a read receipt along to ensure that the winner does indeed read the notice? It could be used as CYA material when a customer says "I never got your email" and tries to start trouble.
I'm wondering if any here use them, and if so, do they work?

They don't work with hotmail or yahoo. I use netscape and when I get an email that a return receipt is requested I get a popup box for it. I can also send them but very rarely do I get an automated response that an email has been opened and not at all if the email went to Yahoo or Hotmail.
I think AOL has this feature automatically, do they not?

Interesting comments...all well thought out. Rosiebud: Thanks! I downloaded that little tool and plan to put it to use!

AOL does have a system where you can see if someone at the (AOL) Email address opened your email and read it, BUT, it really can't be proof that the bidder was the one that opened it. Could be that one of their kids or significant other opened it and didn't tell the intended user that they received the email.
