I received a shirt that I had won in the mail yesterday. The shirt was listed as brand new with tags. No flaws were listed in the description, and the seller has over 150 feedback with no negs so I was very confident about bidding on the item. When I read new with tags in the description I assume that the item is perfect. This shirt however, came with a large white spot on the back. It looks like a baby spit up on it! The shirt is dry clean only, so I'll have to pay to have it dry cleaned before I can wear it. I'm assuming that it will come out -- if not, that's a whole other problem!
My question is, is it acceptable in this case for me to ask the seller to cover the initial dry cleaning cost since the item was not as described?

Assuming the seller didn't note the stain and the item was described as NWT, I'd certainly contact the seller to see what s/he wants to do about it. S/he may, however, simply give you the choice of keeping the item or returning it for a full refund. Many sellers (yours truly included) aren't too fond of giving post-auction discounts. We like to see the item to make sure the damage actually exists and was something we missed, rather than something the bidder "discovered" when s/he contracted a slow-developing case of bidder's remorse.
